he road to the Super Bowl begins tonight and CTV and TSN will be there for the entire ride, as the networks today confirmed their plans for end-to-end coverage of the 2007 NFL season. Together, the two networks boast the biggest - and most prestigious - NFL schedule in Canada, with exclusive Canadian coverage of the season opener, all Sunday afternoon early games (1 p.m. ET), Sunday Night Football, Monday Night Football, the Thursday/Saturday NFL package, every NFL Playoff game and the coveted Super Bowl, making CTV and TSN home of the NFL in Canada.
The NFL season gets underway tonight (Sept. 6) on TSN with Football Night in America: Kickoff Special at 8 p.m. ET, leading into the season opener at 8:30 p.m. ET as the Super Bowl Champion Indianapolis Colts take on the New Orleans Saints (see broadcast schedule below).
CTV's first-ever NFL broadcast airs this Sunday (Sept. 9) at 1 p.m. ET with a Week 1 AFC match-up featuring Denver @ Buffalo, also available in High Definition on CTV HD East/West. This season marks the first of a three-year agreement between CTV and the NFL that delivers to the network the NFL regular season Sunday early afternoon game package (1 p.m. ET), all Playoff games, and the Super Bowl - the most watched single sporting event in North America. CTV will announce its NFL game broadcast schedule on a week-by-week basis.
TSN will televise 43 NFL games this season, providing back-to-back nights of appointment television with exclusive Canadian coverage of Sunday Night Football and Monday Night Football, as well as the Thursday/Saturday broadcast package. Added to the mix this year is a Divisional Playoff Game on January 13. All games are available in High Definition on TSN HD.

TSN gets viewers prepped for Sunday afternoon NFL action with the two-hour preview show Sunday NFL Countdown, every Sunday at 11 a.m. ET leading into CTV's coverage of the 1 p.m. ET game. Host Chris Berman, a veteran of 25 Super Bowls, is joined by a pair of new analysts in recently-retired wide receiver Keyshawn Johnson and the NFL's all-time leading rusher (and Dancing with the Stars celeb) Emmitt Smith. Also returning to the program as analysts this season are former NFLer Tom Jackson, former head coach Mike Ditka and NFL Insider Chris Mortensen. The show, which previews the upcoming week in the NFL and provides analysis, team news, weekly features and timely updates, won a 2007 Sports Emmy for Best Weekly Studio Show.

Football Night in America returns to the airwaves for a second season and can be seen on TSN every Sunday at 7 p.m. ET leading into TSN's coverage of Sunday Night Football. The one-hour preview show features highlights, interviews and game analysis from some of the most respected NFL journalists and former players. Host Bob Costas is joined by co-hosts and studio analysts Cris Collinsworth and Keith Olbermann, analysts and former players Tiki Barber and Jerome Bettis, and Sports Illustrated NFL columnist Peter King.

Continuing its long-standing partnership with TSN, Sunday Night Football returns to the network for another season with coverage of all regular season Sunday night games. The action gets underway on Sunday, Sept. 9 with NY Giants @ Dallas Cowboys. NBC's broadcast team includes NFL Hall of Famer John Madden and broadcasting legend Al Michaels, with Andrea Kremer reporting from the sidelines.

NFL Primetime returns to TSN on Mondays at a new time (4:30 p.m. ET) for the 2007 season. The one-hour program re-caps all the NFL action from the weekend and provides an extensive preview of the Monday Night Football game. Host Trey Wingo is joined in studio by analysts Mike Ditka, Merril Hoge and Mark Schlereth.

The one-hour Monday Night Countdown preview show returns to TSN with a different cast of characters in 2007. A 37-year sports television tradition and the most-watched series in U.S. cable television history, Monday Night Football returns to TSN for a second season on Monday, Sept. 10 with a doubleheader featuring Baltimore @ Cincinnati, immediately followed by Arizona @ San Francisco. TSN's Monday Night Football broadcast schedule features exclusive coverage in Canada of all 17 regular season match-ups. ESPN's Mike Tirico, Ron Jaworski and Tony Kornheiser will call the action from the broadcast booth with Suzy Kolber and Michele Tafoya reporting from the sidelines.

SportsCentre boasts a jam-packed lineup of football coverage each week during the NFL season featuring extensive news and highlights from every NFL game, as well as weekly NFL segments, providing fans with more NFL analysis than ever. On Mondays, Jesse Palmer leads off with a new segment entitled Monday Morning Quarterback, where the former NFL pivot provides analysis and commentary on the weekend's games. On Tuesdays, the fast-paced football action continues with another new weekly segment, Hit Parade, featuring the best football collisions of the week from the NFL, CFL and college football. On Thursdays, TSN football analyst Chris Schultz returns with his popular segment, Risky Business, where Shultz offers his four weekly picks against the spread.
