"SPACE is a great channel to program,” says Ismé Bennie, Director of Programming and Acquisitions for SPACE. “Our loyal viewers have given us rating successes which translate into a stable of returning hits: Battlestar Galactica, The 4400, Eureka and Stargate Atlantis, to name a few. I believe our new additions – Blood Ties and Kyle XY – will quickly become fan-favourites.” NEW PROGRAMS: BLOOD TIES All-New Series Blood Ties follows the misadventures of Vicki Nelson, a feisty, attractive, 29-year old ex-cop turned private investigator with a degenerative eye disorder, who seems destined to sit on the sidelines until fate intervenes, turning her life upside down. After witnessing a terrifying murder, she finds herself on a collision course with a stranger who is also investigating the murder. He is Henry Fitzroy, a 450-year old vampire who just happens to be the bastard son of King Henry VIII. After solving the murder, Vicki finds her forays into supernatural crime are anything but over. Week after week, Vicki's relationship with Henry draws her into baffling cases involving a terrifying pantheon of occult adversaries. This 1997 series, which lasted only one season, had a similar look to the then popular Xena: Warrior Princess, but was smarter, more complex and character driven, and featured some of the biggest battle scenes ever filmed for television. Swords, sandals and a frequently shirtless Heath Ledger round out the brilliant, but short-lived series. RETURNING PROGRAMS: BATTLESTAR GALACTICA All-New Season Four The critically acclaimed sci-fi drama returns for another gripping season. The end of the third season saw Baltar (James Callis) become a free man, key members of the fleet discover they may be the final five Cylons, and Starbuck (Katee Sackhoff) appears to have returned from the dead with a message of cosmic importance. STARGATE ATLANTIS New to SPACE – Season Three A spin-off from the highly successful Stargate SG-1 series, Stargate Atlantis follows a multinational scientific and military group, led by diplomat Dr. Elizabeth Weir, as they go on a mission to investigate the secrets of Atlantis, a city now known to have been built by ancient powerful beings, and bring whatever they discover back to Earth.
