Alliance Atlantis Responds to Media Speculation General News / Alliance-Atlantis Posted by RAD on Jan 05, 2007 - 03:09 PM In response to media speculation, Alliance Atlantis Communications Inc. today announced that, further to its previously-announced process of exploring strategic alternatives, it is engaged in discussions regarding a possible sale of AACI. Southhill Strategy Inc., AACI's controlling shareholder (owned by AACI's Executive Chairman, Michael MacMillan, and Seaton McLean), is also participating in those discussions. There can be no assurance that these discussions will result in a definitive agreement. Rogers Communications Inc., Corus Entertainment Inc. and Astral Media Inc. were all viewed as potential contenders for the deal. Goldman Sachs & Co. and CanWest Global Communications Corp. appear to have teamed up to put an offer on the table. Stay tuned to Channel Canada for upcoming information.
