October is dedicated to the most frightening time of year…Halloween. To get prepared for this sppoookkky occasion, YTV premieres two new series, Ruby Gloom and Grossology, launches the second season of Ghost Trackers, airs brand new Halloween specials from Edgar & Ellen, SpongeBob SquarePants, Malcolm in the Middle, RobotBoy and All Grown Up, and brings back a ton of classics including It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, Garfield’s Halloween Adventure and The Flintstones Meet Count Rockula & Frankenstone.

NEW SERIES – RUBY GLOOM
In the spirit of Halloween, YTV launches the all new Nelvana and YTV co-production, Ruby Gloom. Viewers can catch a sneak peek of the animated series Friday the 13th at 6 p.m. before its broadcast launch Sunday, October 15 at 11 a.m.

Living in a Victorian mansion on the outskirts of Gloomsville, Ruby Gloom isn’t like other children. Instead of being afraid of the dark or the eccentric neighbours, Ruby befriends these unusual characters. In fact, she finds them all delightful. An ironic comedy, Ruby Gloom accentuates the importance of friendship and acceptance. Ruby's perfect day is a gloomy one, full of creativity and adventure with her offbeat circle of friends, and as Ruby likes to point out "Always look on the bright side – unless of course the dark side is your bright side and that's ok too!"

NEW SERIES – GROSSOLOGY
Who do you call when you need to track down a criminal by his own peculiar odour? Ty and Abby Archer—Field Grossologists—of course. On Sunday, October 1 at 8:30 a.m. the crime-solving brother and sister team come to YTV. Hand-picked by a mysterious director and assisted by the infamous Lab Rat, these tweens investigate crimes too icky for local law enforcement to handle. In this Nelvana and YTV animated co-production, based on the books by Sylvia Branzei, everything that Ty and Abby deal with is grounded in real science. Grossology also airs on Discovery Kids in October.

GHOST TRACKERS SECOND SEASON
On Saturday, October 14 at 7 p.m., YTV launches a second season of the ghost hunting reality series, Ghost Trackers. Hosted by Joe MacLeod, YTV supports the premiere with a special behind-the-scenes episode featuring “Freaky Findings,” followed by the first episode of the new season.
