In October, country music lifestyle channel CMT, debuts the new Canadian original documentary/ competition series Plucked, which fast-tracks the musical careers of as-yet-undiscovered talent. Through mobile technology, viewers can vote for their new favourite act during a live in-studio final episode. And for fans of the feature film Coyote Ugly, CMT delivers the exclusive Canadian premiere of The Ultimate Coyote Ugly Search, a reality series featuring beautiful contenders from across the U.S. competing for the bartending title of Ultimate Coyote.

PLUCKED
Reality/Competition

Plucking a diverse group of unknown bands and solo artists from across Canada out of obscurity, Plucked documents how stars-in-training cope when they're suddenly catapulted into the limelight. With the assistance of music industry experts in Toronto, this new CMT Original Series takes young musical careers and accelerates them by giving them all the tools they need to "make it." The only question is, do they have what it takes to succeed? CMT viewers decide as they vote for their favourite.

Each episode follows the daily life of one of the hopefuls, exploring their day jobs, their hopes, families and friends, and their unpolished songs. Then the camera rolls as they're hurled into a whole new environment - some leaving home for the first time. In Toronto, they're in for a rapid transformation where dreams, a remarkable opportunity, and the reality of a tough industry all collide. They come from all over Canada, from small towns to urban centres, but they're all going to the same place: music industry boot camp.

Airs Mondays at 10 p.m., Tuesdays at 7 p.m. and Saturdays at 6 p.m. beginning October 2.

Produced by Henry Less Productions in association with CMT Canada

THE ULTIMATE COYOTE UGLY SEARCH
Reality/Competition

With her plan to breathe life back into her cornerstone New Orleans bar hit hard by Hurricane Katrina, the tough-talking founder of the legendary bar chain Coyote Ugly, Liliana Lovell hits the road in a nationwide bartender search in the Canadian premiere of The Ultimate Coyote Ugly Search. Starting at the original bar in New York City, Lovell and two trusted veterans travel the nation by bus picking up Coyote wannabes with a penchant for bar flair in cities including Nashville, Austin, Texas, San Antonio and finally, New Orleans. The girls face gruelling auditions and emotional cuts in their quest for stardom. But in the end, only one will be named the Ultimate Coyote, walking away with $25,000 cash.

Coyote Ugly first opened its doors in 1993 to a tough New York crowd under the guidance of owner Liliana "Lil" Lovell. A former Wall Street apprentice, Lovell knew the combination of booze and beautiful women equalled money in the cash register. In 2000, Coyote Ugly received national attention following the box office hit of the same name. To date, there are 15 locations operating across the United States.
