SPACE presents the exclusive North American premiere of Hex, a paranormal drama - hailed as the British Buffy the Vampire Slayer - about a young woman with supernatural powers. Hex's protagonist, Cassie, may be like Buffy Summers in that both characters possess special powers, but the tone of the series is more like Smallville and Angel - dark and sinister. The critically-acclaimed series, which premieres on March 8 and airs Wednesdays at 10pm ET on SPACE, stars Christina Cole (What a Girl Wants) as Cassie and Michael Fassbender (Band of Brothers, 300) as Azazeal.

Set in a remote English school, Hex is the chilling story of one girl's exploration of the supernatural and her own sexual awakening. A shy, social outcast, Cassie longs to be popular but is only truly loved and accepted by her best friend Thelma (Jemima Rooper). When Cassie discovers she possesses dangerous powers, she is initially tempted to use her abilities to manipulate people and situations. But Cassie soon realizes that her fate is out of her hands when she is haunted by visits
from a man named Azazeal, the leader of the Nephelim (fallen angels banished from heaven) - visits that she believes are linked to her new-found powers. The cast consists of a roster of young British talent including Joseph Morgan (Master and Commander), Amber Sainsbury (Coronation Street), Colin Salmon (Match Point) and Anna Wilson-Jones.

The series premiered in the U.K. in 2004 on Sky One, which is currently airing the second season. Written by Julian Jones (Behind the Lines) and directed by Brian Grant (As If), Hex is produced and shot in the U.K. by Sony Pictures Television International, partnered with Shine Productions.
