Astral Media’s The Movie Network (Eastern Canada) and Corus Entertainment’s Movie Central (Western Canada) present the second season of the sexy home-grown comedy series G-Spot, premiering Monday, February 13 at 10 p.m. ET on The Movie Network and 9 p.m. PT on Movie Central.

G-Spot II follows the scandalous and complicated life of 30-something Gigi (Brigitte Bako, The Mind of the Married Man, New York Stories, Red Shoe Diaries), a one-time acting prodigy trying to resurrect her career in Hollywood. Despite her highs and lows with work, money, sex, men and fame, in season two, Gigi begins to take some control of her life and career as an almost A-actress stuck in a B-movie world.

Gigi’s trials and tribulations are intertwined with the lives of her eccentric, but loyal friends in Los Angeles. Stella (Heather Hanson, The Chris Isaak Show), the mostly-out-of-work actor continues to be age obsessed while Roxy (Kimberly Huie, Deep Impact), the mother of a 10-year-old daughter tries to reconnect with her estranged husband who dresses like the woman he believes himself to be. Rick (Ian Alden, Kojak), Gigi’s in-the-closet gay Canadian friend and a superstar actor continues to have her stand in as his date, while Gigi renews her friendship with her lesbian neighbour and documentary filmmaker, Livia (Stephanie Moore, Cube Zero).

G-Spot II is an eight-part series co-produced by Serendipity Point Films and Barna-Alper Productions Inc. Executive producers are Laszlo Barna and Brigitte Bako, who co-wrote the series with supervising producer Michael Short (SCTV, MadTV and Primetime Glick).

“With Michael Short’s and Brigitte Bako’s brilliant writing and our highly-talented Canadian cast, the series has really come into its own,” said Erica Benson, Director, Canadian Independent Production, The Movie Network. “The outrageous mishaps and mixed fortunes of Gigi not only continue, but the series’ other characters take full form to make for another provocatively hilarious and entertaining season.”

“We’re thrilled to be able to present new episodes of this sexy, original comedic series for our ever-growing and loyal Canadian audiences. G Spot II is another great example of the quality programming that we continue to develop and produce for Canadian pay-television,” said Shelley Gillen, Head of Creative and Business Affairs, Movie Central.

G-Spot II is developed and produced by Serendipity Point Films and Barna-Alper Productions Inc. as an Original series for The Movie Network and Movie Central. G-Spot is produced in association with Showcase, with the participation of the Canadian Television Fund created by the Government of Canada and the Canadian cable industry, Telefilm Canada: Equity Investment Program, CTF: Licence Fee Program, the Government of Canada: Canadian Film and Video Production Tax Credit and the Government of ontario: ontario Film and Television Tax Credit.
