SPACE pays tribute to one of the most influential men in sci-fi television General News / Space Posted by RAD on Nov 07, 2005 - 08:59 AM SPACE will pre-empt its previously scheduled programming next Saturday to air a special tribute to Michael Pillar, who passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2005. Pillar, best known as the executive producer and co-creator of more than 500 hours of Star Trek, was also the co-creator of the popular series The Dead Zone. As one colleague stated "Michael Piller had an incredible impact on not only modern Star Trek, but on many, many writers." Piller often sought out new writers for his projects, not only in Hollywood, but at college campuses and writing seminars across the country. SPACE's tribute will feature seven hours of television, all written by Piller from three of his most recognizable series.
