First Canadian Drama for OLN Programming Highlights / Outdoor Life Network Posted by Tripster on Oct 25, 2005 - 09:04 PM Peace Point Entertainment Group Inc., a Toronto-based independent television producer, is pleased to announce the premier date for Devil’s Perch – a dramatic pilot created for OLN Canada. The program, OLN’s first ever drama, will premiere Mon. Nov. 21 at 8 p.m. ET in Canada. Devil’s Perch marks the eighth program by Peace Point for OLN. “Peace Point is extremely proud to be producing its first drama with long-term partner, OLN.” says Executive Producer and Peace Point Entertainment Group president Les Tomlin. “It was such an amazing experience to work with the OLN team and many accomplished television veterans on this project.” The creative team includes Emmy/Cable Ace and multiple Gemini Award winning writer Heather Conkie (Bob and Margaret, Road To Avonlea, Dark Oracle) and director Ron Murphy (Train 48, Degrassi The Next Generation, Gavin Crawford Show and Street Cents). The drama unfolds on the Bradshaw family’s ‘Devil’s Perch’ – a turn of the century farm surrounded by acres of cornfields and rolling hills. A large farming conglomerate’s genetically modified corn seeds are growing in the neighboring Devil’s Perch farm fields and have mysteriously found their way onto the Bradshaw land. The conglomerate is seeking monetary compensation from the family for ‘use’ of their super-seeds but the family fights back in this classic David versus Goliath tale. Devil’s Perch stars several veteran Canadian actors including Gemini Award winning actor Shawn Lawrence (Puppets Who Kill, Degrassi, Queer as Folk), Deborah Grover (Atom Egoyan’s upcoming Where The Truth Lies), Sean Bell (series regular in Metropia and Paradise Falls), Zoie Palmer (latest Martha Stewart movie, TV series Missing) and Alan Van Sprang (Paradise Falls, George Romero’s upcoming The Land of the Dead).
