With funnyman Ken Jeong (The Hangover 2) set to host, Cee Lo, Nicki Minaj and Pitbull have been added to the roster of chart-topping performers for THE 2011 BILLBOARD MUSIC AWARDS. Jennifer Lopez, Black Eyed Peas, Rihanna, Keith Urban, Lady Antebellum and Taio Cruz will also take over the stage during the live show on Sunday, May 22 at 8 p.m. ET on CTV (visit CTV.ca to confirm local broadcast times).

CTV today announced that it has acquired the exclusive Canadian rights to the re-emergence of THE 2011 BILLBOARD MUSIC AWARDS in a multi-year deal. Secured on the heels of a record-breaking awards broadcast season, the acquisition of the newly-imagined awards broadcast augments CTV’s already robust lineup of viewer-favourite, top-rated award shows, including THE ACADEMY AWARDS®, THE GOLDEN GLOBE AWARDS® and THE JUNO AWARDS. THE 2011 BILLBOARD MUSIC AWARDS honour music’s most popular artists, live from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on Sunday, May 22 at 8 p.m. ET on CTV. | Marketing: The JUNO Effect: CTV’s 2011 JUNO AWARDS Broadcast Increases Album and Digital Sales for Performers and Winners |

The energy emanating from THE 2011 JUNO AWARDS broadcast on CTV inspired fans to embrace both emerging and veteran talent with their wallets, just-released data from Nielsen SoundScan reveals. Since the broadcast on CTV, sales of Artist of the Year recipient Neil Young’s latest Le Noise has jumped 131% while sales of New Artist of the Year (sponsored by FACTOR and Radio Starmaker Fund) winner Meaghan Smith’s debut album The Cricket’s Orchestra have grown by 219%. Known as “The JUNO Effect”, this wave of enthusiasm has increased album sales and digital downloads for THE 2011 JUNO AWARDS broadcast performers and winners by as much as 485%.

Fred and Bonnie Cappuccino are not your average parents. This couple from Maxville, Ontario raised two biological children, adopted 19 children from around the world and brought them to Canada, and founded the Canadian charity Child Haven International, an organization that provides the basics of life – food, shelter and education, bringing the total children under the Cappuccino’s care to over 1,100 and counting. On Saturday, April 2, at 7 p.m. ET on CTV, W5 presents “Children’s Champions,” reported by CTV South Asia Bureau Chief Janis Mackey Frayer on special assignment to W5. Also, W5 investigates the plight facing members of one Ontario community who invested on the advice of trusted friends and family and lost millions of dollars.

| Ratings: Up 12%, DANCING WITH THE STARS Premieres With Record-Breaking Audience of 2.5 Million Viewers |

Last night, a record 2.5 million Canadians watched as 11 new celebrities attempted to Cha Cha during the DANCING WITH THE STARS season premiere on CTV, making it the most-watched premiere in the 12-season history of the series, based on preliminary overnight data comparisons. Up 12% from last season’s series average, the two-hour premiere at 8 p.m. was also the most-watched program of the night. DANCING WITH THE STARS beat new episodes of HOUSE (Global/FOX, 2.4 million) and THE CHICAGO CODE (Global/FOX, 1.3 million) in total viewers. Growing 13% in its second hour with A25-54, the episode reached 7.2 million unique viewers and was the #1 program of the night with total viewers in the key Toronto and Vancouver markets.

| Ratings: Up 4%, THE 83rd ANNUAL ACADEMY AWARDS® Take the Throne with 6.1 Million Viewers on CTV |

THE 83RD ANNUAL ACADEMY AWARDS® was watched by 6.1 million viewers last night on CTV, up 4% compared to last year, based on preliminary overnight data comparisons. Audiences increased even more among younger demographics, up 6% among Adults 18-34 (1.36 million) and Adults 18-49 (2.7 million), and also up 4% among Adults 25-54 (2.6 million). It’s the most-watched OSCARS® broadcast in Canada since 1998 and the second-most watched broadcast of the year, following SUPER BOWL XLV (6.53 million, CTV). Last year’s broadcast was ultimately watched by 6.2 million viewers; final audience data from BBM Canada for THE 83RD ANNUAL ACADEMY AWARDS will be available in the coming weeks.
