General News: CBC/Radio-Canada furthers transparency and accountability by making public documents released through ATI

CBC/Radio-Canada announced today that it has made available to the public tens of thousands of pages of records released since 2007 by the Corporation under the Access to Information Act (ATI). Documents of interest to Canadians that are disclosed under the Act will continue to be posted on the Corporation's website on an ongoing basis.

Staying up-to-date while travelling is about to get a whole lot easier. Starting this month, passengers on Air Canada flights will have on-demand access to high-quality daily news programming produced by CBC in English and by Radio-Canada in French. Content will be available at their fingertips, on their personal seatback video screen. The service will be rolled out in stages across Air Canada's fleet.

Panasonic Canada and CBC announced today they will bring the first-ever 3D broadcast of CBC's Hockey Night in Canada into Canadian homes. Two broadcasts of CBC's Hockey Night in Canada will be available to Canadians in 3D this upcoming season - Montreal versus Toronto on Saturday, December 11, and the Heritage Classic from McMahon Stadium in Calgary on Sunday, February 20, 2011.

General News: Satellite television access to CBC/Radio-Canada: It's time to get it right

All satellite TV subscribers across the country should have access to their local CBC or Radio-Canada signal. Unfortunately, that's not the case today. It's a problem that CBC/Radio-Canada is asking the CRTC to resolve once and for all in the context of a major policy review now underway.
