MTV Canada will continue to bring top-rated shows like The Osbournes and Jackass from around the world, to Canadian viewers. More than a year following the launch of digital specialty channels MTV Canada and MTV2, the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission today approved the partnership between Craig Broadcast Systems Inc. and Viacom International Inc., subject to certain amendments.

On March 1st, 2003, MTV Canada aims the spotlight at the award winning documentary series True Life with a six episode special.
Since the series first aired on MTV in 1998, True Life's focus upon complex youth issues like adoption, eating disorders, binge drinking, single parenthood, and AIDS has established it as a favourite of both young audiences and critics. The real and honest look each installment takes at youth issues is what has made the series so successful in truly connecting with its audience.

Packing an international programming punch and a homegrown attitude and focus, MTV will make its debut in Canada at 3:30 pm ET on October 18, 2001. More than just music videos, MTV will feature a locally programmed line up reflecting the spirit of Canadian youth culture. MTV in Canada will hit the airwaves with the unveiling of Select, a locally produced and hosted interactive daily countdown show airing from both Vancouver and Toronto.
