Programming Highlights: CTV Moves Big Bang Theory and Two and a Half Men to A-Channel

Effeective October 1st, CTV will move two shows to its newest acquisitions, A-Channel. Big Bang Theory will air Mondays @ 8:30pm followed by Two and a Half Men at 9pm. Next monday, A-Channel will air the repeat of the premiere of Big Bang theory at 8pm, followed by the second episode at 8:30pm. Then, the second episode of Two and a Half Men will air at 9pm followed by the repeat of the premiere episode at 9:30pm.

General News: CRTC approves Rogers Media Inc. purchase of Citytv stations

Rogers Media today announced that the Canadian Radio-Television Commission (CRTC) has approved the agreement under which Rogers Broadcasting, a Rogers Media subsidiary, will acquire five Citytv conventional television stations from CTVglobemedia Inc. These assets are currently under the control of Mr. John D. McKellar, C.M., Q.C., Trustee under a Voting Trust Agreement in respect of CHUM Limited. The Citytv network includes Citytv Toronto (CITY-TV), Citytv Winnipeg (CHMI-TV), Citytv Edmonton (CKEM-TV), Citytv Calgary (CKAL-TV) and Citytv Vancouver (CKVU-TV). The transaction is expected to close on October 31, 2007.

Programming Highlights: FOX Shelves Nashville

FOX has put Nashville on Hiatus after airing it for only two weeks. The series was dead last in the US ratings. FOX will replace it with reruns of K-Ville. SunTV who aired Nashville in Canada will replace it with two episodes of Scrubs for at least the next two weeks. FOX refuses to call it cancelation has they mention the show will return to the schedule at a later date. However, they sometime say that and axe the show permanently. This is what we expect will happen here.
