Corus Entertainment’s top-rated YTV show The Next Star returns for another season (12 x 60) starting Monday, July 18 at 7 p.m. ET/PT. Over 4000 Canadian kids auditioned during The Next Star’s cross-country audition tour this spring with hopes of making it into the Top 16; only 1 will be voted The Next Star and receive the grand prize package at the series’ finale on Sunday, September 25 at 7 p.m., broadcast live from Canada’s Wonderland.

| Production news: Filming Begins on Season 2 of BEING HUMAN |

Muse Entertainment has begun production in Montreal of the second season of the hit sci-fi series Being Human. The 13-episode series is about three paranormal roommates and stars Sam Witwer (Smallville, CSI), Meaghan Rath (Prom Wars, 18 to Life) and Sam Huntington (Fanboys, Superman Returns. Dichen Lachman (Doll House, Torchwood) joins the cast this season playing a reclusive, centuries-old, vampire royal.

A Global summer staple, Big Brother is finally back and wins the night with a strong premiere performance garnering 1.7 million viewers (Ind. 2+, national). Featuring a new twist this season that re-introduced some of the reality series' most troublesome twosomes, Global ruled the roost and dominated Thursday primetime.

Monday night’s eagerly anticipated season finale of Top Chef Canada delivered record-breaking audience numbers for Food Network Canada, achieving an unprecedented 410,000 (2+), making it the highest rated episode ever in the network’s history. Further reinforcing Food Network Canada’s solid track record for delivering the best in entertaining, food-related content, Monday’s finale beat out all specialty competition and drew in the highest audience for its time period as well as the entire day in key demographics. Canadians were no doubt on the edges of their seats waiting to find out that Vancouver’s Chef Dale MacKay of recently opened ensemble restaurant has been crowned Canada’s Top Chef.
