TSN’s live coverage of yesterday afternoon’s UEFA EURO 2008® final featuring Germany vs. Spain attracted a national average audience of 1.01 million viewers, making it the most watched EURO game ever on TSN. Audience levels peaked at 1.13 million viewers from 4 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. ET towards the end of the game as Spain defeated Germany 1-0 to win its first European Championship in 44 years.

Astral Media’s Family Channel has further established itself as the destination for kids, as nearly 420,0001 viewers, aged 8-14, tuned in for the June 20 broadcast of the Jonas Brothers blockbuster Camp Rock. With a 47 per cent share of viewing2, the broadcast of this Disney Channel original movie is now the highest-rated program for this demographic in the last five years, for both specialty and conventional television, surpassing last summer’s record set by the Family Channel broadcast of High School Musical 2.

| Ratings: Grey's Anatomy is Canada's Number 1 Show For 2007-2008 |

With 2.6 million viewers scrubbing in for Grey’s Anatomy’s season finale last Thursday, the series has ended the 2007/2008 broadcast season as Canada’s most-watched series overall among key demos and Canada’s #1 drama series among total viewers. With an average audience of 2.5 million viewers this season, Grey’s Anatomy follows only American Idol among total viewers, making it the #1 drama in the country and leading House (Global, 2.17 million) by nearly 15%. Grey’s Anatomy takes over bragging rights from last season’s most-watched drama in Canada, CSI.

David Cook’s coronation as the seventh American Idol was watched by 3.1 million viewers last night on CTV, up 18% compared to last year. It was the most-watched Idol episode of the season and one of the most-watched broadcasts on Canadian television this year. The highly anticipated finale peaked at 3.7 million viewers in the nail-biting final minutes as Cook, the 25-year-old, soft-spoken, spiky-haired bartender from Blue Springs, Missouri, defeated David Archuleta, the angelic 17-year-old from Murray, Utah.

With the great success of The Border, the most-watched Canadian drama, the highest ratings ever for Rick Mercer Report, and strong showings from several new series, CBC Television increased its prime-time share (7 p.m. to 11 p.m.) to 7.8 for weeks six through 32 (October 1, 2007 to April 6, 2008), surpassing Global for the first time since 1995.

Oprah’s Big Give debuted BIG on CTV last night when 1.7 million viewers tuned in to the series premiere. The entertaining and heart-warming addition to CTV’s spring schedule was the most-watched program of the day nationally among total viewers as well as the key advertising demos A25-54 (1.01 million) and A18-49 (960,000). The program was also No. 1 among total viewers and A25-54 in Toronto and Vancouver.

| Ratings: Corner Gas Once Again Trumps Heroes Monday Night on CTV |

CTV's Corner Gas continued to distance itself from the competition Monday night as it attracted more viewers than a simulcast of Heroes for the fourth week in a row, preliminary data from BBM Nielsen Media Research confirms today. Corner Gas delivered 1.29 million viewers at 9:30 p.m., up 19% head-to-head against the second half-hour of Heroes (NBC/Global, 1.08 million viewers). The much-hyped Heroes episode, which promised to reveal "this season's secrets" last night, landed in a distant ninth place on the list of most-watched programs on Canadian television last night.
