Answer

When we publish news on the site, we tag all of them and if its concerning a new channel, we will tag this story with the "new channels" category. You can access all the stories previously tagged as so, here.

You can also check out our discussion forums and see if someone has posted about it. Access our forums by loggin on to www.viewers.ca.

·  You say a channel was recently launched, however I cannot find it on my TV. Why is it so?

Although a channel launches it may or may not be carried by a lot of factors. Here are the most common:

Each channel is given a category by the C.R.T.C. and depending on this category, a provider (Bell ExpressVu, Starchoice, Videotron, Rogers, Shaw, etc) may be obliged or not to carry it. For example, YTV is a category 1 and must be carried. However, Punch Much is a category 2 channel and is still not carried by Shaw Cable for example.

If a channel is category 2, the provider may decide to carry it if it thinks it will be beneficial to it's subscribers, if there's room in it's lineup and how good went the negciations between the channel and the provider.
