Satellite Radio: Puck Daddy Joins theScore Satellite Radio

Score Media Inc. announced that Greg Wyshynski, a.k.a “Puck Daddy”, has officially joined its line-up of broadcast talent. Greg Wyshynski, the editor of Puck Daddy, Yahoo! Sports’ infamous and humorous hockey blog, today becomes a member of theScore with a live show on theScore Satellite Radio on SIRIUS Satellite Radio channel 98. Puck Daddy Radio will be hosted by Greg Wyshynski along with theScore’s Rob Pizzo, and will air Monday to Friday from 1-2 p.m. ET. Each episode will be rebroadcast at 5 p.m. ET daily and will be streamed on both theScore.com and on Yahoo.com’s Puck Daddy blog.

Satellite Radio: "Oprah & Friends" Radio Channel to Launch on XM Canada

Harpo Radio, Inc. and XM Canada have announced the launch of "Oprah & Friends," a satellite radio channel on XM. "Oprah & Friends" will debut in September 2006 and will feature a broad range of original programming from Harpo Radio, Inc., including regular segments hosted by popular personalities from "The Oprah Winfrey Show" and O, The Oprah Magazine and an exclusive original weekly reality radio show with Oprah Winfrey and Gayle King. The channel will be broadcast from a new state-of-the-art XM studio at Harpo Studios in Chicago.

Satellite Radio: Quebecor Media calls on CRTC about unfair competition by BCE

In a letter sent today to Mr. Charles Dalfen, Chairman of the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC), Mr. Pierre Karl Péladeau, President and Chief Executive Officer of Quebecor Media, alleges that BCE is practicing “a blatant form of cross-subsidization” by allowing Bell ExpressVu to use substantial cash flow generated by a regulated enterprise, Bell Canada, to buy market share in Canada’s TV distribution market. Bell ExpressVu is a limited partnership in which BCE is the sole partner.
