Two of Canada’s most respected production companies have announced at KIDSCREEN a new co-venture to develop, produce and distribute new children’s television series and family movies. Arnie Zipursky Co-Chairman and CEO and Jim Corston Exec. VP of Production of CCI Entertainment and Tom Cox and Jordy Randall, Managing Partners of SEVEN24 Films (formerly Alberta Filmworks) announced that they will combine their production and distribution capabilities to produce several new properties over the next three years.

Showcase is pleased to announce that principal photography begins on February 5th on ten new half-hour comedy episodes of Rent-A-Goalie - the Showcase Original HD series that's become a fan favourite. Cake (series creator Christopher Bolton), continues his struggle to change his life - one goal at a time. Joining him this season are hockey greats Phil Esposito, Tony Esposito, Darryl Sittler, Mike Palmateer and Tie Domi as well as Michael Landsberg of TSN's Off The Record.

| Production news: Lionsgate's Bratz™ Franchise Hits a High Note |

Lionsgate has announced that "American Idol" judge Paula Abdul has joined the creative team of BRATZ: THE MOVIE, the first live action feature based on Bratz™, the highly popular brand of fashion dolls manufactured by leading consumer entertainment products company MGA Entertainment. Crystal Sky Pictures is financing the live action feature film, directed by Sean McNamara (RAISE YOUR VOICE). Arad Productions' Avi Arad, MGA's Isaac Larian and Crystal Sky's Steven Paul are producing the picture, and Crystal Sky Pictures president Benedict Carver will executive produce. Lionsgate is distributing BRATZ: THE MOVIE in the United States. The announcement was made jointly by Lionsgate's President of Film Production Mike Paseornek and producers Arad, Larian and Paul. The film will begin production in February and is scheduled to open in August of 2007.

| Production news: Ricky Sprocket – Showbiz Boy |

Bejuba! Entertainment Inc., Snowden Fine Productions and Studio B Productions Inc. have announced that Ricky Sprocket – Showbiz Boy will air on Nickelodeon channels in the UK, Australia, Latin America, Germany, Italy, France, Spain and Scandinavia in the fall of 2007 and Nicktoons Network in the US. The series, created by Alison Snowden and David Fine, the Oscar winning team behind Bob and Margaret, will be co-produced with Vancouver’s Studio B Productions Inc. and distributed by Bejuba! Entertainment Inc. Canadian broadcast partner TELETOON, the 24-hour specialty animation network, was involved in the early production of the property, and is preparing to launch the series in the fall of 2007.
