General News: CRTC imposes strict conditions on TQS transaction, to be revisited in 2011

The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) today approved, subject to certain conditions, Remstar Diffusion inc.'s (Remstar) acquisition of the TQS Network and television stations in Montreal, Quebec, Trois-Rivičres, Sherbrooke and Saguenay. The Commission has also renewed the licences of these stations until 2015, but will re-examine the programming commitments after three years.

The Rogers Media Television group, a division of Rogers Communications Inc., is pleased to announce they have signed an unprecedented, multiple-title deal with ShineReveille International, the international sales and distribution arm of the Shine Group and Media Rights Capital (MRC), the leading independent film, television and digital studio.
