Two of the most respected musicians in the world will collaborate on an extraordinary new television series, it was announced today. Spectacle: Elvis Costello with… will be hosted by its namesake and produced in conjunction with Sir Elton John’s Rocket Pictures. Elton John will be one of the program's Executive Producers. Conceived and developed in Canada, the Canada/United Kingdom co-production will start shooting soon for broadcast later this year on CTV in Canada, Channel 4 in the UK and Sundance Channel in the US. FremantleMedia Enterprises will handle sales of the show to the rest of the world.

PBS in conjunction with Wildheart Entertainment announced today the greenlighting of a major new television series, ON RECORD: THE SOUNDTRACK OF OUR LIVES, an eight-hour series that traces the history of recorded music and its impact on popular culture. Featuring hundreds of artists from all genres of music, ON RECORD: THE SOUNDTRACK OF OUR LIVES is slated to air nationally as a primetime series in the Fall of 2010 on PBS; Sir George Martin, legendary producer of the Beatles, will host. Two-time Academy Award-winning actor Kevin Spacey will narrate.

Slice is shining a spotlight on hairstyling with the Canadian premiere of the new competition reality series Shear Genius. Hosted by award-winning actress, designer and entrepreneur Jaclyn Smith, the eight-episode reality competition series offers a behind-the-scenes look at the competitive and creative world of high-end hairstyling. Famed celebrity hairstylist and designer Sally Hershberger serves as lead judge on the series. Michael Carl, fashion director of Allure also judges and Rene Fris, accomplished stylist, serves as the salon manager to the stylists. The crop of guest judges includes styling industry greats Frederick Fekkai, Ken Paves and Jose Eber.

"Dan Rather Reports," the new weekly news program produced and hosted by legendary broadcast journalist Dan Rather, will make its world premiere on HDNet Tuesday, November 14 at 8:00 p.m. ET / 5:00 p.m. PT, it was announced by Mark Cuban, Chairman and Co-founder of HDNet. As the weekly hour-long program's Global Correspondent, "Dan Rather Reports" will mark the return of Rather to television news, with his distinguished record as a premier news journalist.
