StarChoice Increases Channel Count Again
Posted on Sunday, August 14, 2005 - 08:15 PM
Star Choice

Last week marked the launch of three new channels on StarChoice - A-Channel Victoria (ch. 389), CP24 (ch. 509), and RAI (ch.802).

The first two channels had been previously announced last fall by Starchoice as 'Coming Soon' but failed to be added at that time. CP24 was required to be carried by Starchoice as a condition of their continued licence by the CRTC.

A-Channel Victora is an addition to the Essentials package and is free to all subscribers. CP24 is currently available as a free preview but has been added to the FYI package. RAI is available as a Pick'n Play channel for $2.49 a month.

This week also saw the brief appearance of the NFL Channel in the channel guide. The channel is currently not available to subscribers but is rumoured to officially launched soon and added to the More Sports Package.

September will also see the return of NFL Sunday Ticket to Starchoice as well as the re-introduction of 8 channels of PPV movies that had been removed in order to increase their offerings of dedicated HD Channels. It has also been rumoured that Starchoice will be increasing their offerings of HD Channels in September but the company has not given any concrete indication of this.
