on Wednesday, June 08, 2005 - 08:48 AM |
From sci-fi classics to contemporary genre hits, SPACE: The Imagination Station's fall line-up has something for everyone. Leading up the line-up is a brand-new season of the fan-favourite Battlestar Galactica, as well as the return of Battlestar Galactica - The Classic Series, airing together for the first time on Canadian television and exclusively on SPACE.
"SPACE continues to bring our viewers what they have asked for," said Isme Bennie, Director of Programming and Acquisitions for SPACE. "This will be an amazing season, with the world's top series in the schedule - the two Battlestar Galactica series, the series premiere of The 4400, a strip run of Enterprise, and new seasons of Stargate SG-1, The Dead Zone and Smallville."
NEW PROGRAMS:
THE 4400
All-New Series
Based on the recent miniseries, this new series picks up one year after the events on the beach revealed the truth about the 4400 - and the world is a much different place. Tom has returned to work at Homeland Security and is once again teamed up with Diana, who is in the midst of formally adopting Maia. Richard, Lily and the baby, now six months old and showing she is far from an ordinary child, are living in meager conditions in a mountain cabin, far away from Jordan Collier who has closed Arcadia Estates and is about to open "The 4400 Centers," a place for people to discover "the 4400 within themselves." Now, as the members of the 4400 struggle to resume their "life interrupted," each will come to play a pivotal role in events still to come... events that will shape the destiny of the human race.
SUPERNATURAL
All-New Series
Sam Winchester has done his best to escape his family's eerie history, but, along with his older brother Dean, Sam is bound by tragedy and blood to a dangerous, other-worldly mission. Criss-crossing the mysterious back roads of the country in their '67 Chevy Impala, the Winchester brothers search for their missing father, and hunt down every evil supernatural force they encounter along the way. Executive produced by McG, David Nutter and Eric Kripke and stars Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles.
STARGATE ATLANTIS
New to SPACE
A spin-off from the highly successful Stargate SG-1 series, Stargate Atlantis follows a multinational scientific and military group, led by diplomat Dr. Elizabeth Weir, as they go on a mission to investigate the secrets of Atlantis, a city now known to have been built by ancient powerful beings, and bring whatever they discover back to Earth.
5IVE DAYS TO MIDNIGHT
All-New Miniseries
A four-part miniseries, which revolves around college professor J.T. Neumeyer, who stumbles upon a mysterious briefcase containing a police file filled with details of a gruesome murder - his own. The file, complete with photos of his bullet-strewn corpse and a list of suspects, indicates that the shooting will take place in five days. Though skeptical at first, J.T. realizes, when events begin to mirror those in the report, that the file is real and time is quickly running out. He has only days to solve the mystery of his own murder and hopefully change the course of the future.
STAR TREK: ENTERPRISE
All-New Strip Run
A prequel to the original Star Trek: The Original Series, Star Trek: Enterprise is set in the 23rd century and follows the adventures of a spacecraft whose five-year mission included the exploration of distant worlds and the shipment of supplies to Earth colonies in space. The series, which debuted in September 2001, stars Scott Bakula as Captain Jonathan Archer, Jolene Blalock, John Billingsley, Dominic Keating, Anthony Montgomery and Linda Park.
SHADOW HUNTER
All-New Series
A 13-part, half-hour documentary series, produced in association with CHUM Television, that looks at the fascinating world of the paranormal through the eyes of charismatic ghost hunter, best-selling author and doctor of parapsychology Darryll Walsh. The show features cases derived from a variety of sources, including Walsh's own files, local and international headlines, the Internet, and parapsychological organizations worldwide.
THE SENTINEL
New to SPACE
In the jungles of Peru, the fight for survival heightened his senses. Now, Detective Ellison is a sentinel in a fight for justice. He can see people in darkened windows at night from 200 yards, hear the music playing on the radio of the car he is chasing after he has lost sight of it, and can distinguish between wood and plastic after both have been in a three thousand degree fire. Stars Richard Burgi, Garett Maggart and Bruce Young.
VAMPIRE HIGH
New to SPACE
The world of Vampire High explores students grappling with the horror story known as adolescence. The series is set at Mansbridge Manor. In the day, it is an isolated boarding school that is the last stop haven for privileged teenagers of the wealthy and influential. At night, the school secretly houses a daring experiment to civilize vampire teenagers. By nature, they are passionate and predatory, but now they've been sent to school by their elders and they are not pleased about being guinea pigs. The teens are being guided by Dr. Reginald Murdoch, a renowned and eccentric educational specialist. Murdoch is a true renaissance man on a steadfast mission, guiding his charges into becoming real citizens of the world.
RETURNING PROGRAMS:
BATTLESTAR GALACTICA
All-New Season Two
In this re-imagined version of the sci-fi cult classic, a ragtag fleet of humans, the sole survivors of a devastating nuclear attack by the robot Cylons, is forced to flee under the protection of their one remaining warship, the outdated Battlestar Galactica. Pursued by the Cylons - some of whom have now taken human form - Commander Adama (Edward James Olmos) and President Laura Roslin (Mary McDonnell) lead these last remnants of humanity in search of a new home... a planet called Earth. Season one concluded with Commander Adama shot at close range by Lieutenant Sharon Valerii (Grace Park), who, unbeknownst to her and the Galactica crew, is a humanoid Cylon. Will Adama survive? Are there more Cylons among them? The series also stars Katee Sackhoff (Starbuck), Jamie Bamber (Apollo), James Callis (Dr. Baltar) and Canadian Tricia Helfer (Number 6).
BATTLESTAR GALACTICA - THE CLASSIC SERIES

Lorne Greene, Richard Hatch and Dirk Benedict star in the classic TV space opera.
STARGATE SG-1

A unique psychological thriller based on the characters and story from the best-selling Stephen King novel The Dead Zone. Six years later, Johnny regains consciousness and discovers that life as he once knew it has completely changed.
SMALLVILLE
All-New Season Five
