Sotheby's Realty Finds a Home on BBC CANADA
Posted on Wednesday, April 20, 2005 - 12:00 AM
BBC Canada

Ever wanted to know who buys and sells the most exclusive properties in the world? Superhomes follows the day-to-day business of the world's leading real estate company, Sotheby's International Realty. Sotheby's clients range from businessmen and celebrities to aristocrats and dot.com millionaires.

This series captures the tension of big deals won and lost; it takes us into the arcane world of high-end real estate; it gives a close-up view of the super rich of the 21st century; and it introduces us to engrossing characters including the brokers, the clients and all their entourage.

BBC CANADA presents the North American premiere of Superhomes at 9 p.m. ET on Sat., April 30.

Anybody who has ever bought or sold a home can identify with the stress involved. The property deals in Superhomes are no different - except when the architects, interior designers, gardeners, chefs and pool attendants get involved…Superhomes travels with clients to visit a ranch in the mid-west or a chateau in France. It eavesdrops on negotiations as buyers, sellers and brokers decide which way to go. It also allows us to catch a glimpse of the kind of people who can afford to buy these luxury homes - and to understand why they would want to.
