| G4TechTV Canada Introduces New Shows |
| Posted
on Wednesday, March 30, 2005 - 03:48 PM |
The month of March has been a very busy one for G4TechTV. A year ago the network was known as TechTV, and in June became G4TechTV. In February G4TechTV USA became known simply as G4TV, while its Canadian counterpart remained as G4TechTV.
Starting on Monday March 28th, one of G4's most popular shows, simulcast in Canada, "The Screen Savers", was renamed "Attack of the Show". As put by the G4TechTV website: "There's the inside track, and then there are those who pave the inside track. Attack of the Show gets you inside, underneath, around, and behind the newest tech, the hottest games, the fastest-breaking news, and the oddest oddities from the fringe."
In Canada, G4TechTV has created a whole new show similar to TechTV's Fresh Gear. The show, Gadget's and Gizmos, will begin airing in April. The show will be hosted by the National Post/Global 's Marc Saltzman, as well as co-hosted by Call for Help co-hosts Andy Walker and Amber MacArthur. As quoted from G4TechTV: "A half-hour show designed to help viewers, from the savvy to the newbie, make the most of their technology. Whether for work or play, the program’s no-nonsense approach lets audiences find out how to get the best in personal technology. By keeping current with the latest news, products and trends, the program covers everything from first-look reviews at hot new gadgets to tech lifestyle segments, geek culture features and profiles, in-depth tech toy reviews and much more. Gadgets & Gizmos does the showing and the telling, and viewers get expert advice, informative tech tips and popular product picks."
G4/G4TechTV will soon be adding some new shows of the racing genre:
Formula D - A series devoted to the world of drift racing that will burn up the screen in April. Featured in numerous hit video games, drifting has now reached the U.S. and is on its way to becoming a cultural phenomenon. G4 promises superior race day coverage including profiles and interviews with the sport’s hottest stars, expert race commentary and analysis, trackside reporting, drifting tips and tricks from the pros. “Formula D” will also give viewers the inside line on the latest in drifting culture from the coolest rides on the car show circuit to the hottest import car babes.
Street Fury - A weekly in-depth view of the adrenaline-drenched world of Import Car Racing and modification. Street Fury is not just another car magazine show spouting geek-speak for gearheads. Big C takes fans to all the places they wish they could go, while doing all the things they’re dying to do. Going to photo shoots with the 2005 Asian Beauty calendar girls, racing RC cars with Vivica Foxx and Mos Def, doing wheelies with the US Stunt Riders, practicing slides at the Derek Daly racing school and of course hanging with the ladies at some of the most outrageous after parties on the planet.
G4TechTV Canada's most popular show Call for Help, and Gadgets and Gizmos, will both share a completley new set as well, beginning in April.
G4techTV (formerly known as TechTV) launched on September 7, 2001 as the ultimate television resource for technology news, information and entertainment.
