Classic NHL, CART, boxing and feature-length films added to upcoming schedule.

ESPN Classic Canada expands its vintage programming lineup with four new three-year deals involving classic NHL, CART, boxing and sports movies.

ESPN Classic Canada has added more than 75 classic NHL games to its schedule with NHL Classics every Monday at 9 p.m. (all times Eastern), beginning September 2002. Viewers are invited to relive the greatest games involving the greatest players ever to wear an NHL jersey, including Hall of Famers Bobby Orr, Darryl Sittler and “The Great One”, Wayne Gretzky.

ESPN Classic Canada brings CART fans trackside this September with the addition of 90 hours of CART Classics every Friday at 9 p.m. TSN auto racing expert Vic Rauter takes a look back at Canadian CART drivers who raced their way onto the winner’s podium.

ESPN Classic Canada lands a classic punch on prime-time programming this September with the addition of 90 hours of HBO Classic Fights. Every Wednesday at 9 p.m., TSN boxing specialist Russ Anber journeys back to the early days of today’s best fighters, including Canadians Arturo Gatti and Kirk Johnson, as well as Roy Jones Jr., Prince Naseem Hamed, Bernard Hopkins, Shane Mosely and Floyd Mayweather Jr.

ESPN Classic Canada has struck a blockbuster deal with MGM, expanding its Reel Classics feature-length movie library with 19 new additions. Every Saturday at 9 p.m., sports fans and movie-lovers alike are invited to enjoy a variety of Hollywood hits, including all five Rocky titles, Bull Durham, Hoosiers, Rollerball, Eight Men Out, Young Blood and Raging Bull.

“With the addition of these four news deals, ESPN Classic Canada heads into the fall season with its strongest prime-time schedule to date,” says Phil Piazza, director, ESPN Classic Canada. “ESPN Classic Canada has truly become Canada’s best source for classic sports.”
