| National Geographic Channel Presents Peaks Week |

National Geographic Channel takes viewers on a week-long journey to conquer the world’s highest mountains. From Mount Everest to Kilimanjaro’s magnificent peak, daring adventurers challenge themselves and attempt the impossible. Peaks Week airs Monday, November 15 at 9 p.m. ET to Friday, November 19 at 9 p.m. ET and features true stories of bravery, endurance and determination.
Peaks Week leads off with the Canadian premiere of Women of K2 on Monday, Nov. 15 at 9 p.m. ET. This one-hour documentary chronicles the stories of five fearless women who reached Kilimanjaro’s daunting peak. Women of K2 features revealing interviews, dazzling footage and rare, archival photographs, as well as photographs taken by famed climber Araceli Segarra during her 2002 expedition on the mountain. Other programs featured in Peaks Week include:
Adventure Challenge: In Search of Mountains and Molehills
Tuesday, November 16 at 9 p.m. ET
A mountaineer attempts to enter the Guinness Book of Records by climbing to the highest point in every country in Europe (47 according to the Guinness definition). It is a huge physical challenge, and one in which human nature is put to the test.
Surviving Everest
Wednesday, November 17 at 9 p.m. ET
Fifty years after the first successful ascent to the top of Mount Everest, the sons of three climbing pioneers – Sir Edmund Hillary, Tenzing Norgay and Dr. Barry Bishop – revisit the mountain and face their own complex relationships with its legacy.
Mountain of Ice
Thursday, November 18 at 9 p.m. ET
This program recounts the expedition to one of the most stunningly beautiful parts of the planet - atop the highest peak in Antarctica. The expedition up the unclimbed East face of Vinson Massif included Jon Krakauer and was led by noted mountaineer Conrad Anker.
X Force: Mountaineering
Friday, November 19 at 9 p.m. ET
Join Guy Cotter and team members Takashi Ozaki and Lhakpa Dorjee as they attempt to ascend Makalu – the world’s fifth highest mountain.
