CH Television Launches New Local Programming Lineup for CH Hamilton
Posted on Wednesday, September 08, 2004 - 09:05 AM
E!

Beginning Monday, September 13, CH Television will launch a new local programming lineup featuring a power-packed noon edition of news and a fresh and innovative program directed at young adults, ages 12-24.

Power-packed Noon Edition, Monday through Friday 12 Noon - 1:30 pm

The 90-minute weekday lineup begins with CH News at Noon followed by CH Live @12:30 and CH Talk Live at 1:00 pm. This power-packed lineup definitely offers a punch with controversy and opinion to rival all local talk programming in the time slot.

With in-depth coverage, our team consists of well-respected professionals who are top guns in the region. First up, veteran news anchor Connie Smith leads a dedicated team of journalists including the most watched weatherman Matt Hayes on CH News at Noon. Then, Mark Hebscher and Donna Skelly take on the newsmakers of the day with their unique pull-no-punches attitude during CH Live @12:30. And, at 1:00 pm, Bill Kelly puts his finger on the pulse of the region reflecting the interests and concerns of Hamilton, Halton, Niagara and beyond with CH Talk Live. It's a lunch appointment viewers won't want to miss - a real news showdown, Monday through Friday at high noon.

CH Live @12:30 will be updated and rebroadcast weekday evenings at 11:30 pm. In addition, newsmaker segments generated by the original broadcast will also be aired on CH News at 6 when warranted.

BEAT LINE, Monday through Friday 4:00 - 4:30 pm

CH Television further expands local programming initiatives with the debut of BEAT LINE, a half-hour program geared at connecting with young adults, weekdays from 4:00 - 4:30 pm. Popular 91.5 The BEAT radio personality Adele Newton will host the program, which will reach out to 12 to 24-year-olds.

BEAT LINE will tackle a wide range of subjects from body piercing, cheating on exams, political issues to family values, young entrepreneurial success stories and much more. Viewer opinion is a key component of the program, discussing subject matter that is often controversial and always youth oriented. The BEAT LINE phone lines will certainly heat up with a jam-packed 30 minutes that promises to be educational and definitely on the edge.

In addition to our youth-focused programming, CH Television has also introduced a Youth Advisory Board, CH Youth Connections, made up of six young adults from Hamilton, Halton and Niagara. This dynamic team of young people will provide input into our local programming initiatives, from a youth perspective.

Be sure to tune in Monday, September 13 at high noon for CH News at Noon, followed by CH Live @12:30, and CH Talk Live at 1:00 pm - it's a power-packed lunchtime combination. Then, at 4:00 pm, catch what the youth of Hamilton, Halton and Niagara are talking to Adele Newton about on BEAT LINE.
