Posted on Sunday, August 22, 2004 - 08:31 AM
Fashion Television

Programming highlights for 2004-2005

FashionTelevisionChannel is Canada's first and only 24-hour English Language Fashion Channel dedicated to the world of art, architecture, photography and design with a celebration of style. It's a fast-paced collage of fashion collections, photo sessions, backstage chaos, parties and interviews. Designer television 24-hours a day. FashionTelevision Channel is a division of CHUM Limited, one of Canada's foremost media companies and program providers.

NEW SHOWS:

"America's Next Top Model"
The second season of the hit reality show comes to FTC. The world's first Supermodel Janice Dickinson, Jane Senior Fashion Editor Eric Nicholson and renowned Photographer Nigel Barker join Tyra Banks as judges in the search for "America's Next Top Model". Each week, they challenge the participants to show the look, skills and attitude needed to become America's Next Top Model. The judging panel conducts regular evaluations, narrowing the field each week as they take participants into a high-pressure, high-stakes series of competitions that will determine the winner.

"Hair Wars"
Carla Collins hosts this new half-hour reality show where contestants vie to see who can create a new hair style. Set in a mall, each week two people compete against each other, as the field narrows from 16 contestants to one winner.

"The History Of Urban Fashion"
The latest Hip Hop fashion collections are modeled on the runway along side some of Canada's top Urban acts as they perform their hit songs. These elements are mixed with edited pieces detailing the fascinating cultural history of urban style. A FashionTelevisionChannel Original Production.

RETURNING SHOWS:

"FashionTelevision"
After 18 years, "FT" is still the world's leading style program. "FT-FashionTelevision" is a global search for the visually stimulating and innovative creations of today's newsmakers in fashion, art, architecture and photography.

FTC ORIGINAL SPECIALS:

"Fashion Night In Canada"
The best Canadian and European designer collections, live from the FashionTelevision Channel Runway.

"Naked In the House" In HD (High Definition)
FashionTelevisionChannel goes behind the cameras for a look at the photographers and the competition that forces photographers to rely on the one thing that made them a good photographer in the first place - their eye. The unique Canadian photography competition "Naked in the House" requires eleven photographers to shoot the same nude model, under restrictive conditions . With only one roll of film, one camera, one half hour to shoot and none of the cushy advantages of a studio, the results are beautifully raw.

"Fashion Cares"
The 18th edition of Toronto's annual all out fashion extravaganza. Hosted by Supermodel Linda Evangelista, this years show features singer Patti Labelle and a fashion show filled with hundreds of models and dancers sporting styles inspired by the daring designs seen in night clubs around the world.
