Canadian-produced Call for Help with US technophile Leo Laporte premieres August 16th
Posted on Tuesday, August 10, 2004 - 06:08 AM
G4/TechTV Canada

G4techTV Canada (formerly TechTV Canada) is pleased to announce that a Canadian-produced Call for Help (www.callforhelptv.com) will begin airing weeknights as of Monday, August 16 at 6:00 p.m. ET/ and repeated at 9:00 p.m. ET/.

Call for Help, Canada’s technology support and how to show on G4techTV, is the first original television production for G4techTV Canada.

The new show features award-winning technology journalist and author Leo Laporte as host with well-known Canadian technology expert Andy Walker and Monica Litonjua as co-hosts. Call for Help is modeled after the same successful formula as the show Laporte hosted on TechTV for six years in the United States.

“Canadians were overwhelmingly represented in the majority of viewer e-mails and phone calls that I received over the course of Call for Help in the States,” says Leo Laporte. “I’m glad that now there’ll be a Call for Help tailored for Canadian viewers.”

“There has been tremendous interest around Canada’s Call for Help south of the border and from around the world,” explains Malcolm Dunlop, Vice President Programming, G4techTV Canada. “We have received calls and emails from Leo’s fans in the US, and from as far away as Egypt and New Zealand, inquiring about how to access the Canadian program.”

The one hour show is designed to help viewers, from the tech savvy to the novice, get the most out of their technology and keep up-to-date on the latest technology news and products. Call for Help will feature responses to viewer calls and viewer e-mails as well as fun tech tidbits, updates on the latest trends in technology and product reviews. The show will also feature regular visits from experts in photo editing, software, and web design, plus regular product review segments from experts in the field. If it's got a chip in it, Call for Help will cover it.

Viewers can send their questions to Leo to info@callforhelptv.com or visit www.callforhelptv.com.
