New series for 2004-2005 include Rocked With Gina Gershon and Ultimate Film Fanaticas well as the second season of Project Greenlight with movies premieres like Scarface and Six Degrees of Seperation.

GREAT FILMS
Scarface
(Network Premiere) Sept. 5 at 9pm ET
Cuban refugee Tony Montana (Al Pacino) builds a drug empire in
Miami by shooting his way to the top of a family of gangsters. He kills his boss
and marries his boss’ girlfriend (Michelle Pfeiffer) to become a drug kingpin,
but makes some dangerous enemies along the way.
Six Degrees of Separation
(Network Premiere) Sept. 26 at 11pm ET
While entertaining friends at their home one evening, Fifth
Avenue socialites Ouisa Kittredge (Stockard Channing) and her husband Flan
(Donald Sutherland) are interrupted by a young black man named Paul (Will
Smith). Paul says that he’s a close friend of their children, and he’s just been
mugged. The Kittredges are immediately taken by Paul’s intelligence and charm,
and offer to let him stay the night. The next morning, however, they discover
that Paul is an experienced con artist.
Tape
(Broadcast Premiere) Sept. 28 at 9pm ET
Two high school buddies, Vince (Ethan Hawke) and Johnny (Robert
Sean Leonard), get together while Johnny, a filmmaker, is in town attending a
festival. Vince secretly records their conversation during which Johnny admits
to dateraping Vince’s old girlfriend, Amy (Uma Thurman). When Amy shows up, the
three argue about whether the story is fact or fabrication.
Chelsea Walls
(Broadcast Premiere) Sept. 28 at 11pm ET
Actor Ethan Hawke directs this intricately woven tale about the
struggles of several artists who dwell in New York’s famed bohemian residence –
the Chelsea Hotel. Bud (Kris Kristofferson), a novelist, can’t focus on his work
because he’s too busy drinking and having an affair; Grace (Uma Thurman), is an
aspiring poet who waits tables and who has developed a crush on her neighbour, a
man who doesn’t seem to notice her; and Ross (Steve Zahn) and Terry (Robert Sean
Leonard) are a pair of hopefuls who want to make it in the world of rock ‘n’
roll, but so far have not been successful.
Dead Man Walking
(Network Premiere) Fall 2004
In the role that won her an Academy Award®,
Susan Sarandon stars as Sister Helen, a nun who comforts convicted killer
Matthew Poncelet (Sean Penn) before his execution. Helen stays with Poncelet
during his last days, encouraging him to admit to his crimes and accept divine
forgiveness.
The Usual Suspects
(Network Premiere) Fall 2004
Five career criminals decide to hijack a drug shipment at the
request of a faceless underworld figure known only as Keyser Soze. Police
detective Kujan (Chazz Palminteri) finds a witness, Kint (Kevin Spacey), who
recounts the events that led to several murders during the heist.
Stolen Summer
(Broadcast Premiere) Fall 2004
Set in Chicago in the 1970s, two boys, one of Jewish faith and
one of Catholic faith, forge a friendship. When the Jewish boy becomes ill, his
Christian friend tries to convert him to Catholicism to ensure that he goes to
heaven. This film, starring Aidan Quinn and Kevin Pollak, is the result of the first season of Matt Damon and Ben Affleck’s IFC series Project Greenlight.
Amores Perros
(Broadcast Premiere) Fall 2004
Three lives collide in this film about life on the edge of
Mexico City. There’s Octavio, who falls in love with his sister-in-law; Daniel,
a publishing executive who leaves his family for a beautiful model; and finally
El Chivo, a homeless man who is trying to contact his daughter whom he hasn’t
seen in years. Directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu, the film portrays each
man’s unique experiences of love and loyalty. Amores Perros won the Critics
Prize at the Cannes Film Festival and was nominated for an Oscar®
for Best Foreign Language Film in 2001.
Kids in the Hall: Brain Candy
(Network Premiere) Fall 2004
The Canadian sketch-comedy masters hit the big screen with
Kids in the Hall: Brain Candy.
When Roritor Pharmaceuticals finds itself on the verge of bankruptcy, research
chemist Chris Cooper finds himself pressured to push his latest development to
market without adequate testing. The product – a pill that makes people remember
their happiest memories – is successful, but has unfortunate side effects. Stars
Dave Foley, Mark McKinney and Scott Thompson.
Chasing Amy
(Network Premiere) Winter 2005
Holden (Ben Affleck) and Banky (Jason Lee) are comic book
creators and best friends. When Holden meets Alyssa (Joey Lauren Adams) he
somehow convinces her to date him even though she’s a lesbian. Banky, angered
that he’s about to lose his best friend, mounts an anti-Alyssa campaign.
Rules Of Attraction
(Broadcast Premiere) Winter 2005
During a semester at an elite college, a love triangle forms
between Sean Bateman (James Van Der Beek), a student who deals drugs in order to
support his marijuana habit, Paul Owen, who’s bisexual, and Paul’s
ex-girlfriend, Lauren (Shannyn Sossamon). Sean becomes obsessed with Lauren
because he thinks she’s passing him anonymous love notes. Meanwhile, Paul tries
to get Sean into bed.
Frailty
(Broadcast Premiere) Winter 2005
A mysterious man (Matthew McConaughey) walks into a local FBI
office and begins to reveal what he knows about a serial killer case: A father
(Bill Paxton) has apparently told his young sons that God came to him in a
vision and has chosen them to help slay demons who walk the earth in human form.
Working from a list that he claims an angel has given him, the father begins to
murder people on the list while the boys watch.
Lovely and Amazing
(Broadcast Premiere) Winter 2005
Forced to stay in the hospital after complications during a
liposuction procedure, a mother must depend on her three daughters to look out
for one another. This is not an easy feat considering that the girls’ lives are
in complete chaos – two of them are in unhappy relationships and the youngest is
only eight years old. Often self-absorbed, the sisters begin to make decisions
that change their lives for the better.

Rocked With Gina Gershon
(Canadian Premiere) Sept. 2004

This documentary series follows actress Gina Gershon on a multi-city tour across the U.S. with the band Girls Against Boys. Gershon
decided to join the tour in order to promote her upcoming film, Prey for Rock
and Roll, in which she plays the lead singer of an all-girl rock band. Along the
way, Gershon gets a behindthe- scenes glimpse into a musician’s on-the-road
lifestyle and encounters the highs and lows of touring – including the notable
"high" of jamming with Lenny Kravitz.
Ultimate Film Fanatic
(Canadian Premiere) Winter 2005
In this series, movie buffs from across the United States go
head-to-head in such categories as Movie Trivia, Debate Round and Obsession War
to earn the coveted title of Ultimate Film Fanatic.
RETURNING SERIES
Project Greenlight
(Canadian Exclusive) Sept. 2004

This HBO series, conceived by Oscar®-winning
writers/actors Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, enables aspiring screenwriters to
submit scripts with a chance to win a $1 million budget and a
theatrical-distribution guarantee. In season two, a directing competition was
added, the winner of which directs the winning writer’s screenplay.
Dinner for Five
(Canadian Exclusive) Sept. 2004
Jon Favreau returns for a third seas on to dine with some of
Hollywood’s hottest players. Uncensored and unabashed, no topic is off limits
when Favreau initiates candid dinner conversations with such artists as John
Waters, Delroy Lindo, Gina Gershon, Katie Holmes and Patricia Clarkson.
KINK
Sept. 2004
Toronto becomes the backdrop of the second season of this
critically acclaimed 13-part series. From a professional dominatrix to a
"newbie" couple from the suburbs, the subjects of KINK are on a
journey of sexual adventure and discovery as they attempt to create their
identities and shatter norms in their pursuit of passion.

In the Company of Women
(Canadian Premiere) Oct. 2004
This IFC Original documentary features interviews with
innovative and diverse female directors, writers and actors who have challenged
and transformed the portrayal of women on screen. Interviewees include Patricia
Clarkson, Lisa Cholodenko, Jodie Foster, Parker Posey, Lili Taylor and Susan
Sarandon, among others. In the Company of Women gathers observations and
insights into the challenges of filmmaking from the perspective of women.
Slasher
(Canadian Premiere) Fall 2004
This IFC Original documentary follows a man considered to be the
greatest living used car salesman in America. The cameras follow him as he
creates "slasher sales" and unloads vehicles that other salespeople are unable
to sell. Part circus sideshow and part con-job, the documentary gives viewers an
insider’s look at the tricks of the used car sales trade.
Samurai Saturdays
Saturdays at 5pm ET beginning Sept. 2004
Filmmakers who influenced the Samurai genre, including Akira
Kurosawa, who brought us such works as Rashomon and Throne of Blood,
find a permanent home on the IFC Saturday schedule.
