Fall 2004 Highlights: Prime

PRIME’S Fall season gets off to a great start with a lineup of new programs that include Saturday Night Live Classic Episodes, My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiancé, Whose Design is it Anyway? and The Insider.

Continuing for a second season are the popular PRIME Signature Series Antique Hunter, Great Taste/No Money, Open Homes, Room to Grow and Past Lives.

The following shows will premiere the week of August 2nd, 2004:

MONDAYS:

SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE (Series Premiere)
Monday–Friday @ 5:00pm

PRIME is excited to air a selection of classic episodes from the earlier years of Saturday Night Live (SNL). The Emmy Award-winning late-night comedy show is now in its 29th season. Over the past 28 years SNL has launched the careers of many comedic stars including Dan Aykroyd, John Belushi, Jane Curtin, Chevy Chase, Bill Murray, Gilda Radner, Paul Shaffer, Eddie Murphy, and Joe Piscopo.

ROOM TO GROW (Season Premiere)
6:30pm & 11:00pm

Returning for a second season, Room To Grow is a dynamic and practical gardening series that will give viewers an insight into how a little thought and energy can transform an ordinary garden into a garden that is functional, beautiful and personal, even if budgets are limited.

*Room to Grow also airs Saturdays at 11:30am and 10:30pm

THURSDAYS: 6:30pm & 11:00pm

GREAT TASTE NO MONEY (Premiered on July 22)

Back for another season is Great Taste No Money. It’s a design show that delivers great design for little cash. Joining host Alfredo Rodriguez this season is designer Bill MacDonald and together they re-organize ordinary people’s houses, sharing their wealth of design experience, opinions, energy, shopping expeditions and the occasional song.
*Great Taste No Money also airs Saturday’s at 10:30am & 9:30pm

FRIDAYS

OPEN HOMES (Season Premiere)
6:30pm & 11:00pm

Open Homes returns for a second season and host, Shelley Swirski guides homeowners, who are considering selling their homes, through a whirlwind of decorating activity in the hopes of increasing the value. When the work is done, valuation experts return to give their verdict
*Open Homes also airs Saturdays at 11:00am & 10:00pm

SUNDAYS

MY BIG FAT OBNOXIOUS FIANCÉ (Series Premiere)
8:00pm

In this unscripted series hosted by Claudia DiFolco, a 23-year-old first grade teacher and “bride-to-be” introduces her less-than-desirable “fiancé” to family and friends when she announces her surprise nuptials in the series premiere. Over six episodes leading up to the walk down the aisle, the “husband-to-be” will test the tolerance of family and friends with his shocking and appalling behaviour at the requisite engagement party, the wedding planner visits, the bridal shower, and the rehearsal dinner. The “bride” must make it all the way through the wedding ceremony and final vows in order to win $1 million (US).

The following new shows will join the schedule later in the Fall:

THE INSIDER

Based on the insider segment from the popular newsmagazine show Entertainment Tonight, this half-hour show gives viewers a unique perspective into the world of celebrity by using first-person interviews and behind-closed-door reports from knowledgeable and informed sources.

WHOSE DESIGN IS IT ANYWAY?

Host and designer Jason Cass goes head to head with homeowners with an eye for style, to redesign an area in their home in a bid to have the winning design. They each work with the same budget but the homeowner has the added bonus of a team of craftsmen. The winning design will be selected by family, partners and spouses of our homeowner and a renowned home décor expert.

The following programs in the PRIME Signature Series will be back for their second season later in the fall:

PAST LIVES

A second season of this highly rated documentary series invites viewers to follow engaging Canadians who are passionately in search of their roots.

ANTIQUE HUNTER

Hosted by expert dealer and collector Rene Huard, Antique Hunter travels the back roads of North America in search of true antique treasures and collectibles.
