MIKE & MOLLY Joins TWO AND A HALF MEN in New Monday Night Comedy Hour, Beginning Sept. 20 on /A\
Posted on Wednesday, September 08, 2010 - 06:41 PM
CTV Two

Monday nights on /A\ are choc-full of hilarity this Fall with the debut of the newest series from comedic genius Chuck Lorre (THE BIG BANG THEORY, TWO AND A HALF MEN), MIKE & MOLLY on September 20 at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT. The charming new comedy that follows a couple who find love at an overeaters anonymous meeting joins /A\’s new Monday night comedy hour following one of Canada’s most-watched comedies, TWO AND A HALF MEN at 9 p.m. ET/PT on /A\ (visit atv.ca to confirm local broadcast times).

New episodes of MIKE & MOLLY and TWO AND A HALF MEN are available on demand following their television broadcast on the CTV Video Player at CTV.ca.

At a session during the Television Critic’s Association press tour this Summer, executive producer Lorre spoke about the characters in MIKE & MOLLY: “It's about real people with real issues trying to have a relationship…we had the courage and, the wisdom to just cast people that are trying to make their lives better and find someone that they can love and be loved by. It may be odd for television, but I hope it's reflective of some kind of reality that people will experience." (Deadline)

In MIKE & MOLLY, Molly Flynn (McCarthy) a loveable grade school teacher with a good sense of humor about her curves and Mike Briggs (Gardell), a kind-hearted cop, find love at an Overeaters Anonymous meeting. Managing her weight is an endless challenge for Molly, which is magnified by living with her sexy older sister, Victoria (Katy Mixon, TWO AND A HALF MEN) and their mother, Joyce (Swoosie Kurtz, NURSE JACKIE) both of whom flaunt their effortless figures and indulge in less than healthy options in front of her.

Mike sincerely wants to lose weight and his fast-talking partner, Officer Carl McMillan (Reno Wilson, Transformers) encourages him on his quest for health and romance despite his constant teasing. Mike also faces temptation at the local diner he frequents, where he has become friends with a Senegalese waiter (Nyambi Nyambi, LAW & ORDER), to whom dieting is a foreign concept. For Mike and Molly, thanks to their mutual love of pie and the desire to resist it, finding each other may have been worth the "weight."

In the eighth season premiere of TWO AND A HALF MEN entitled "Three Girls and a Guy Named Bud" (Monday, September 20 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on /A\), when Jake (Angus T. Jones) finds out that Alan (Jon Cryer) has been dating Eldridge's mom, he packs up and heads to Judith (Marin Hinkle) and Herb's (Ryan Stiles). Meanwhile, Charlie (Charlie Sheen) decides it's time to cut back on boozing.

In the series premiere of MIKE & MOLLY, (Monday, September 20 at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT on /A\), when teacher Molly Flynn hears Officer Mike Biggs' "share" at an Overeaters Anonymous meeting, she's instantly smitten and invites him to come speak to her fourth grade class.
