Posted on Sunday, June 30, 2002 - 07:55 PM
Outdoor Life Network

OLN challenges viewers to face the elements this season with exhilarating outdoor action and adventure.

OLN embarks on Canadian quest with Mission: Adventure
OLN's newest action-packed adventure show, Mission: Adventure, pits two intrepid hosts against one another as they compete head-to-head in outdoor adventures such as street luge, kite buggying, lumber jack challenges and barefoot waterskiing. This 26-episode OLN-produced show, which premiered May 19 and airs every Sunday at 7 p.m. (all times Eastern), explores Canada's vast wilderness from coast-to-coast, with each show featuring two uniquely Canadian adventures designed by the two fearless hosts. There is a spirited rivalry between hosts Tyler Ty Pullen and Tyler Mac MacLeod as they battle it out with a mission to win. The winner is the host who completes the mission first. The loser must then take to Canada's streets for Mission: Aftermath to complete a dare created by the winning host.

Tour de France
OLN viewers will never lose sight of the yellow jersey as the network brings Canadians exclusive coverage of the world's most historic and anticipated cycling race - the Tour de France. From July 7 - 28, OLN will televise more than 115 hours of race coverage, including live morning coverage daily at 9:30 a.m. as well as expanded coverage nightly in primetime.

OLN rides high at the Calgary Stampede
OLN saddles up for the rodeo from July 6 - 15 to cover the action from the Calgary Stampede, the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth. The dust flies as strong cowboys and skilled cowgirls rope, wrestle and ride. As the world's largest rodeo, the Calgary Stampede features bareback bronc riding, steer wrestling, calf roping and bull riding. OLN's coverage airs daily at 7 p.m.

2002 Great Outdoor Games
OLN heads for the great outdoors with exclusive Canadian coverage of the third annual Great Outdoor Games - the premiere outdoor sports competition, from Lake Placid, NY. Airing August 5 - 9 at 6 p.m. and August 10 and 11 at 2 p.m., the 2002 Great Outdoor Games features intense competition between more than 200 athletes - human and canine - all gunning for medals and prize money in 22 events within four sport categories: fishing, sporting dogs, target sports and timber events.

2002 Summer X-Games
This August, OLN will be the exclusive Canadian broadcaster of the Summer X-Games from Philadelphia. Airing August 26 - 30 at 5 p.m. and on August 31 at 2 p.m., OLN takes to the air with the most thrilling and edgy BMX, skateboarding, motocross, in-line skating, wakeboarding, street luge and speed climbing competitions the extreme sports world has to offer.

Women's 2002 Power Challenge
OLN is getting charged up for the 2002 Power Challenge in October. Hosted by the Fitwins - Sandi and Gail Parmelee - the 2002 Power Challenge is a reality-based series showcasing the strength and endurance of 16 Canadian female competitors during a gruelling three-day sports challenge. Sports events include wrestling, swimming and the secret Frozen Race & Recovery Challenge.

Road Rules 10: The Quest
This fall, OLN launches Road Rules 10: The Quest. Roadies Ellen, Blair, Sophia, Adam, Jisela and Steve arrive in the middle of the Sahara Desert with a goal to recover an ancient crest that has been broken up into 10 pieces. Each piece represents a virtue other Road Rulers have struggled to attain.

Real World/Road Rules Extreme Challenge 2001
Real World/Road Rules Extreme Challenge 2001 will debut on OLN this fall. The concept is simple - two teams made up of previous cast members from the two hit shows The Real World and Road Rules gear up and travel to the Submarine School's Damage Control (DC) Wet Trainer in Groton, CT. The two teams compete in extreme challenges and the winners spin a prize wheel for cash and prizes.
