The Brits Wig Out on The Comedy Network, Jan. 20 in LITTLE BRITAIN USA
Posted on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 - 05:37 PM
Comedy Network

Award-winning comedians Matt Lucas and David Walliams took the UK and Australia by storm with their outrageous sketch comedy in LITTLE BRITAIN. On Wednesday, Jan. 20 at 10 p.m. ET, armed with new material and some new characters to boot, they are now poised to conquer The Comedy Network with LITTLE BRITAIN USA.

Set in the U.S. this 30-minute, six-episode series features LITTLE BRITAIN faves in all-new sketches, as well as a host of new characters, all performed by Lucas and Walliams. In typical sketch-com style, Lucas and Walliams suit up to play returning favorites including: Dafydd Thomas, the self-proclaimed “only gay in the village”, Lou and his seemingly wheelchair-bound best friend Andy, Marjorie Dawes, the insensitive leader of a chapter of the weight-loss support group Fatfighters, and Vicky Pollard, a teenage delinquent with a bad attitude.

Among the new characters are Bing Gordyn, the eighth astronaut to go to the moon, Mark and Tom, hyper-masculine gym buddies who will do anything for each other, Ellie-Grace, a frilly little girl with the mouth of a truck driver; and Sandra and George, who have been married 40 “glorious” years. LITTLE BRITAIN USA also features celeb cameos from Paul Rudd, Sarah Chalke, Vivica A. Fox, Geraldine James, Harry Lennix, Rosie O'Donnell, and Sting.

In the first episode, witness British tourists Lou and Andy’s debacle at a Mississippi hotel; rude hospital receptionist Carol Beer using her favourite line ”Computer Says No" to thwart a five-year-old's scheduled tonsillectomy; and Fat Fighter Marjorie Dawes sparring with special guest Rosie O'Donnell.

LITTLE BRITAIN USA was shot on location in Wilmington, North Carolina and Los Angeles, with Michael Patrick Jann (FLIGHT OF THE CONCHORDS, RENO 911) directing, and with David Schwimmer (Run Fatboy Run, FRIENDS) directing studio segments shot in LA.
