Spartacus: Blood and Sand (New)
Premieres Monday, January 25 at 9 p.m. (13 x 60 min; drama)

This new, graphic and visceral action-adventure series tells the classic tale of the legendary Spartacus, who was betrayed by the Romans, forced into slavery and reborn as a gladiator in Ancient Rome. Torn from his homeland and the woman he loves, Spartacus is condemned to the brutal world of the arena where blood and death are primetime entertainment and treachery, corruption and the allure of sensual pleasures constantly test him. Starring Andy Whitfield, Lucy Lawless, John Hannah and Peter Mensah.

Secret Diary of a Call Girl (Season 3)
Premieres Monday, January 25 at 10 p.m. (8 x 30 min; comedy)

Based on best-selling, real-life diaries, this provocative half-hour British comedy series is back for a third season and continues to take an inside look at the secret double life of a high-end London call girl. Starring British actress Billie Piper as Hannah, who by day is a legal secretary clocking in regular hours, and by night is Belle, the answer to all men’s fantasies.

In this series, the Emmy®-nominated duo of Penn & Teller fearlessly expose dubious practices across America, and uncover the truth behind so-called miracles, false promises, and questionable doings. From anti-aging to talking to the dead, they tackle it all with their trademark wit and humour.

La La Land (New)
Premieres Monday, January 25 at 11 p.m. (6 x 30 min; comedy)

In this half-hour reality comedy series from Showtime, British comedian Mark Wootton stars as three different wannabes struggling to find fame and fortune in Los Angeles. Wootton plays “Brendan Allen,” a talentless documentary filmmaker on a quest to become the next Morgan Spurlock; “Shirley Ghostman,” a medium willing to lie, cheat and even drug his way to becoming America's next psychic superstar; and “Gary Garner,” an East-London taxi driver using the inheritance from his late porn-star mother to forge a career as an action star like his hero Jason Statham. Written by Wootton and Peter Baynham (Borat), La La Land is a hybrid of documentary and comedy where Wootton plays fictitious characters, while everybody else, including his accomplices, are completely real and unaware they are talking to an actor.

Created by Steven Spielberg and written by Oscar®-winner Diablo Cody (Juno), United States of Tara returns for a second season, starring Toni Collette in her Emmy®-winning role as Tara Gregson, a wife and mother struggling to balance her dissociative identity disorder while raising two teenagers. Also starring John Corbett, Keir Gilchrist, Brie Larson and Rosemarie DeWitt.

CANADIAN ORIGINALS

The Phantom (Original Film)
Part One – Premieres Tuesday, December 22 at 8 p.m. (1 x 120 min; drama)
Part Two – Premieres Wednesday, December 23 at 8 p.m. (1 x 120 min; drama)

This Canadian original film makes its world premiere on The Movie Network and follows law student and parkour runner (“traceur”) Chris Moore, who is shocked to learn that he was adopted and is the son of The Phantom, a caped crime-fighter. He joins the Phantom team in the jungles of Bengalla, training in martial arts and combat. He emerges as the next Phantom, and battles the assassins of the evil Singh Brotherhood. Starring Ryan Carnes, Sandrine Holt, Cameron Goodman and Isabella Rossellini.

Faker$ (Original Film)
Premieres March/April 2010 (drama)

Faker$ tells the shocking story of three ordinary teenagers from one of Canada’s most elite schools who created a major counterfeiting operation under the noses of their teachers and parents, and how it all came crashing down. An original pay TV movie, Faker$ stars Greyston Holt, Andrew Francis and Alexia Fast.
