VisionTV, Canada's multi-faith and multicultural television network, has teamed with Toronto-based social media platform company Filemobile to launch a dramatically enhanced version of its popular video on demand service.
VisionTV Video On Demand (http://video.visiontv.ca/) uses Filemobile's Broadband Video Player to showcase hundreds of exclusive clips and full-length programs from the network's lineup. The service also features a channel dedicated to user-generated content, offering viewers the chance to share videos that express their spirituality.
VisionTV has been offering online programming content on demand since 2007. Said Mark Prasuhn, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Content Officer for the network's corporate parent, S-VOX: "As a multi-platform content provider, we are committed to continually expanding and improving our online program offering. With Filemobile's help, we have succeeded in making our video player more robust, incorporating additional content and features while keeping the service user-friendly and easy to navigate."
Filemobile's Broadband Video Player enables content owners to program the player with content and monetize it through ads. It offers a number of user-friendly features for viewers, including the ability to customize personal playlists and share favourite videos with friends.
Said Mr. Prasuhn: "Working with Filemobile was a real pleasure. They brought industry-leading expertise and creativity to bear on the project, helping us to add significant value to our video on demand service while working within the constraints of our budget."
Added Steve Hulford, Chief Creative Officer and Founder of Filemobile: "Filemobile's focus is to provide leading media companies with the tools they need to quickly and easily deploy a variety of applications. By providing Vision TV with a broadband video application we are helping them monetize their content library online."
