| MuchMusic Reveals the Top 8 Semi-Finalists for VJ 2.0 |

Let the challenges begin! From nearly 4000 applicants, fans and MuchMusic narrowed the search to eight VJ candidates, all battling for the job of a lifetime. Now these eight semi-finalists go head-to-head in a series of jaw-biting, take-no-prisoners challenges to secure a spot in the Final Four. Fans can go to muchmusic.com to watch the action unfold and interact with VJ hopefuls as they duke it out for the best gig in media.
“Fans’ support for the VJ candidates has been incredible. They’ve interacted, engaged and supported our search for the next MuchMusic VJ,” said Brad Schwartz, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Much MTV Group, CTV Inc. “With their help, we now have eight talented semi-finalists ready to compete at muchmusic.com to secure a spot in the Final Four. From here on out, it’s no holds barred as we get closer to finding another amazing MuchMusic VJ.”
The competition begins with semi-finalists giving back and getting socially active by raising money for a charity or cause of their choice. Then it’s all about music and celebrity culture as the VJ hopefuls tackle the top entertainment and news stories of the day, along with interviewing a local musician. The challenge really gets crackin’ when the candidates turn the camera on and show fans just how well they can throw to their favourite music videos. The stakes are high, as only four go on in the competition. Fans can hit up muchmusic.com to checkout the challenges and support their favorite VJ wannabes. Doritos® presents the MuchMusic VJ 2.0 Final Four on Nov. 23.
The eight semi-finalists were narrowed down from the Top 16 based on fan views, ratings and feedback, along with the applicants’ photos, video submissions, social links, and written submission. The Top 8 can be viewed and supported online at muchmusic.com:
