In this digitally remastered version of The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975), the 1973 stage musical by Richard O’Brien is presented in High Definition, just in time for Halloween. Borrowing largely from cinema’s horror conventions, the film begins as an innocent young couple, Brad (Barry Bostwick, SPIN CITY) and Janet (Susan Sarandon, Stepmom) is stranded at the home of a mad scientist Dr. Frank-N-Furter, (Tim Curry, Annie) who is building the perfect man. The castle is filled with a most bizarre group of characters who worship their master, the leather jacket and fishnet stocking clad Dr. Frank-N-Furter. The outstanding costuming and makeup, the acting by a group of relative unknowns (at the time) and the memorable songs (“Time Warp”, “Sweet Transvestite”) helped make The Rocky Horror Picture Show one of the most bizarrely entertaining and satisfying musicals ever made.
