Halloween Programming Highlights For Corus Ent's Specialty Channels Begin October 23rd

This Halloween, Corus Entertainment brings viewers a frighteningly fun lineup of movies, themed episodes and classic specials across its specialty networks. Beginning on Friday, October 23, Corus will count down to Halloween with schedules chockfull of haunted programming. Highlights include: Twilight airing on Movie Central, It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown on YTV, a True Blood Season 2 marathon on HBO Canada and Ghost on W Network.

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 23

GHOST – W NETWORK
When Molly (Demi Moore) loses the love of her life Sam (Patrick Swayze) to murder, she isn’t as alone as she thought. With the help of Oda Mae Brown (Whoopi Goldberg), a fraud psychic, Sam’s spirit gives Molly the help she needs to stay out of harms way. Viewers can enjoy this classic love story at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 24

FINAL DESTINATION – ENCORE AVENUE
Alex Browning (Devon Sawa) is gifted and cursed by premonitions; he keeps seeing the death of his friends and himself. There’s only so much running they can do, fate can’t be fought. Final Destination airs at 8 p.m. PT.

TWILIGHT – MOVIE CENTRAL
Mortal Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) and vampire Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) are a modern day Romeo and Juliet. This first instalment of their epic love story is based on the best-selling book by Stephenie Meyer. Twilight premieres at 8 p.m. PT. (also airing at 9 p.m. ET on The Movie Network)

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 25

WALLACE & GROMIT: CURSE OF THE WERE-RABBIT – YTV
There is a beast on the loose eating everyone’s prized vegetables. With the Giant Vegetable Competition only days away, the town needs the situation controlled, and.Wallace and Gromit are the perfect pair for the job. Wallace & Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit premieres at 4 p.m. ET/PT.

MONDAY, OCTOBER 26

THE FLINTSTONES MEET COUNT ROCKULA AND FRANKENSTONE – YTV
The Flintstones and the Rubbles win a trip on “Make a Deal or Don’t” to Count Rockula’s castle in Rocksylvania. Fun becomes fright when they meet the Count and his surly servant Frankenstone. This classic Halloween special airs at 6:30 p.m. ET/PT.

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 27

GARFIELD’S HALLOWEEN ADVENTURE – YTV
Garfield gets into the Halloween spirit by dressing up as a pirate and making Odie one of his crewmen. On their journey, they end up at a haunted house that’s filled with real pirates back from the grave in search of treasure – now it’s up to pirate Garfield to get himself and first mate Odie out of hot water. Viewers can enjoy this Halloween special at 6:30 p.m. ET/PT.

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 28

IT’S THE GREAT PUMPKIN, CHARLIE BROWN – YTV
In this 1966 trick-or-treating classic, the perpetually lonely Charlie Brown is thrilled he has been invited to a costume party. Meanwhile, Linus is waiting in a pumpkin patch for The Great Pumpkin to rise and deliver presents to all the good little boys and girls. It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown airs at 6:30 p.m. ET/PT.

UNDERWORLD: RISE OF THE LYCANS – MOVIE CENTRAL
Set in the Dark Ages, this prequel follows the story of an ancient feud between vampires, werewolves and Lycans. Lucian (Michael Sheen), a young Lycan, leads a rebellion against the vampire king Viktor (Bill Nighy) with the help of his lover, Viktor’s daughter. Viewers can catch this premiere at 10:30 p.m. PT.

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 29

THE PENGUINS OF MADAGASCAR: HAUNTED HABITAT – YTV
After Marlene is frightened by a spooky noise, she and Skipper travel to a sewer below the zoo to find the source. Follow the Penguins in this Halloween-themed episode at 6:30 p.m. ET/PT.

PROM NIGHT – MOVIE CENTRAL
It’s prom night and Donna (Brittany Snow) is excited for senior prom, but, dancing turns into running when there’s a killer on a rampage. Is it the man who killed Donna’s family back in time for prom? Prom Night airs at 9:30 p.m. PT.

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 30

3rd & BIRD: COSTUME PARTY! – TREEHOUSE
It’s a costume party at 3rd and Bird! Muffin is Little Red Riding Hood and Samuel wants to be an apple tree. When he sets off to get the rest of his costume, Muffin eats his apple – but she fixes her mistake by making an apple out of her own costume. This special Halloween-themed episode airs at 6:25 p.m. ET.

ADDAMS FAMILY VALUES – YTV
The deliciously dark and quirky Addams family introduces a new, moustachioed baby boy, Pubert. Meanwhile, Fester falls for the Debbie, the nanny, and Wednesday and Pugsley find out she’s a black widow looking for her next victim. Starring Anjelica Huston, Joan Cusack, Christina Ricci and Christopher Lloyd, Addams Family Values airs at 7 p.m. ET/PT.

TRUE BLOOD: SEASON 2 MARATHON – HBO CANADA
Viewers can sink their teeth into this HBO hit series with the first six episodes of True Blood Season 2, airing back-to-back from 7 p.m. to midnight ET/MT.

THE UNINVITED – MOVIE CENTRAL
This thriller follows Anna, a young girl whose terrible visions lead her and her sister to believe that their father’s new girlfriend killed their mother in a fire. The Uninvited premieres at 8 p.m. PT.

THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS – W NETWORK
FBI agent Clarice Starling (Jodie Foster) is on her first major case. To catch a killer she needs to learn the mind of a killer, which leads her to the cannibal murderer Dr. Hannibal Lector (Anthony Hopkins). The Silence of the Lambs airs at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 31

SCHOOL IS HELL MARATHON – COSMOPOLITAN TV
CosmoTV has prepared a Halloween day movie marathon, beginning at noon ET with Satan’s School for Girls, starring Shannon Doherty as a young girl who enrolls in a New England College to investigate her sister’s suicide. At 2 p.m. ET, The Initiation of Sarah follows Sarah Goodwin (Mika Boorem), a young woman with mysterious powers who goes off to college only to be pulled into the middle of an ancient battle between good and evil. Practical Magic begins at 4 p.m. ET. The Owens sisters, Sally (Sandra Bullock) and Gillian (Nicole Kidman), struggle to use their gift for practical magic to overcome a family curse. Topping off the movie event, is the premiere of The Craft at 6:30 p.m. ET. Sarah Bailey (Robin Tunney) befriends the outcast group of girls at her Catholic high school. Together, they dabble in witchcraft casting spells that start to go terribly wrong.

W TRIPLE FLIX – W NETWORK
Indulge in three thrilling back-to-back movies from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. ET/PT. Dr. Alex Cross (Morgan Freeman) investigates the kidnappings of eight women with the help of Dr. Kate McTiernan (Ashley Judd) in Kiss the Girls at 4 p.m. ET/PT. Revisit Dr. Alex Cross at 6:30 p.m. ET/PT in Along Came a Spider, as he’s pulled from retirement to save a senator’s daughter from a madman. The event comes to a close with The Gift at 9 p.m. ET/PT, where small-town psychic Annie Wilson (Cate Blanchett) is lead to the heart of a gruesome murder.

THE AMITYVILLE HORROR – DUSK
Based on the true story of George Lutz (Ryan Reynolds) and his family’s terrifying 28-day stay in a possessed house, this 2005 version of The Amityville Horror airs at 4 p.m. ET.

TRUE BLOOD: SEASON 2 MARATHON – HBO CANADA
Viewers can catch the final six episodes back-to-back of True Blood Season 2 from 7 p.m. to midnight ET/MT.

MY BLOODY VALENTINE – MOVIE CENTRAL
After the collapse of a mine, six workers are trapped; one lived, while the others were killed with a pick axe. On Valentine’s Day the following year, the sole survivor awakens from his coma and reclaims his axe. My Bloody Valentine premieres at 8 p.m. PT.

PET SEMATARY – ENCORE AVENUE
This classic horror-thriller, based on the novel by Stephen King, follows the Creed family’s move to a new home in the country, and the disastrous aftermath of burying their son in the cemetery behind their house. Pet Sematary airs at 8 p.m. PT.

THE WITCHES OF EASTWICK – CMT
Alexandra (Cher), Jane (Susan Sarandon) and Sukie (Michelle Pfeiffer) are bored with small-town life so they playfully summon their ideal man. In comes the mysterious Daryl Van Horne (Jack Nicholson), their wish is granted, but at a price. The Witches of Eastwick airs at 10 p.m. ET.
