An epic battle of barn-burning proportions is set to commence on The Comedy Network. It’s red-hot versus redneck as eight of the comedy industry’s greatest take to the airwaves for 10 nights of non-stop stand-up. The Comedy Network’s SUMMER OF STAND-UP continues on Monday, August 24 at 10 p.m. ET/PT as the bad boys of comedy step into the ring for five nights, followed by the Blue Collar challengers beginning Monday, August 31 at 10 p.m. ET/PT for another week of late-night laughs.
The first week starts with heavyweight Dane Cook followed by the raunchy Bob Saget and unfiltered Russell Brand. The legendary George Carlin finishes the match with two of his classic specials. After a weekend break, the Blue Collar comedians rush the ring. Throwing the first swings are Jeff Dunham and his right-hand...err…puppets. Fellow rednecks Bill Engvall, Larry the Cable Guy and Ron White deliver hard-hitting proletariat punches. In the final round, Jeff Dunham is back with a bad-assed ventriloquist throw down.
Monday, August 24 at 10 p.m. - DANE COOK: VICIOUS
For two hours, Cook tackles issues like the therapeutic value of a good lie, the sincerity behind a post-sneeze ‘God bless you,’ cheating and the shock of seeing your father’s genitals.
Tuesday, August 25 at 11 p.m. - BOB SAGET: THAT AIN’T RIGHT
Bob Saget’s performance in New York City proves that even a wholesome television dad can get raunchy… real raunchy.
Wednesday, August 26 at 11 p.m. - RUSSELL BRAND: LIVE IN NEW YORK CITY
Russell Brand covers everything from his experience working with Britney Spears, to the philosophical side of being a rocking sex god.
Thursday, August 27 at 11 p.m. - GEORGE CARLIN: ON LOCATION AT USC
In his first comedy special, Carlin explores topics like flying on planes, supermarkets, and his controversial “Seven Dirty Words” routine that provoked a U.S. Supreme Court ruling.
Friday, August 28 at 11 p.m. - GEORGE CARLIN: IT’S BAD FOR YA
Filmed just four months before his death; Carlin riffs on death, hero worship, and the failure of the “self-esteem” movement.
Monday, August 31 at 11 p.m. - JEFF DUNHAM: ARGUING WITH MYSELF
Dunham is joined by old favourites Peanut, Walter and Jose Jalapeno as well as two new sidekicks Bubba J and Sweet Daddy Dee.
Tuesday, September 1 at 11 p.m. - BILL ENGVALL: HERE’S YOUR SIGN
After years of watching dummies in action, Blue Collar Comedy veteran Bill Engvall calls out stupidity of all kinds in this one hour stand-up special.
Wednesday, September 2 at 11 p.m. - LARRY THE CABLE GUY: MORNING CONSTITUTIONS
Larry comments on everything from terrorism to Wal-Mart, throwing in a few country songs for good measure.
Thursday, September 3 at 11 p.m. - RON WHITE: THEY CALL ME TATER SALAD
White ponders the absurdity of fashionable eyewear, contemplates idiots and discusses his half-mad, deer-hunting cousin in his stand-up performance.
Friday, September 4 at 11 p.m. - JEFF DUNHAM: SPARK OF INSANITY
The puppet show continues when Dunham and his crazy cast of friends, including Walter and Jose Jalapeno, return in a second off-the-wall special.
