OMNI Launches New Reality Series in Ontario, Alberta and BC: There Goes the Neighborhood
Posted on Wednesday, August 12, 2009 - 07:20 PM
OMNI1

Can an average middle-class household truly let go of modern-day conveniences in order to reconnect with each other as a family? Find out on There Goes the Neighborhood, a one-hour reality competition series beginning Sunday, August 9th on OMNI Television stations as follows:

9:00 ET in Ontario – OMNI.1 (CFMT-TV)
10:00 MT in Calgary – OMNI in Calgary (CJCO-TV)
10:00 PT in Edmonton – OMNI in Edmonton (CJEO-TV)
10:00 PT in Vancouver, Victoria – OMNI in BC (CHNM-TV)

“With a fun concept and competition format, There Goes the Neighborhood will be sure to entertain our audiences on a weekly basis,” says Malcolm Dunlop, Executive Vice President of Programming for Rogers Media Television.

In There Goes the Neighborhood, eight families from diverse backgrounds will be cut off from the outside world by a 20-foot wall and a near lack of electricity (this means no television, no Internet and no cell phone) — and minus these distractions, must focus on working together in competition against their neighbours.

As emotions run high and friendships are tested, one family is eliminated by a majority vote each week until just one remains to claim the $250,000 grand prize.

From co-executive producers Mike Fleiss (The Bachelor; High School Reunion) and Jay Bienstock (The Apprentice; Survivor) There Goes the Neighborhood promises to be the ultimate family and social bonding experiment.

Editor's note on august 12th: Sorry about the late posting. I've posted it anyway so you can hopefully catch the second epsiode next week. RD
