Fifteen year-old YouTube sensation turned tween heartthrob, Justin Bieber co-hosts MUCHONDEMAND on Friday, Aug. 7 at 5 p.m. ET. This appearance marks his first ever performance on national television! The talented young Canadian has received over 10 million views of his homemade videos on YouTube, which have left teenage girls pushing his debut single “One Time” up the charts. After MOD, fans can catch up with Bieber on a live chat at muchmusic.com beginning at 6:30 p.m. ET.
Usher’s protégé received the most entries ever for the MuchOriginal series MY DATE WITH…. In MY DATE WITH JUSTIN BIEBER, one lucky fan gets to spend a full day one-on-one with the up and coming young star. Look for the full episode on Much this fall.
Fans can also check out dance moves from Season 1 SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE CANADA finalist Francis Lafreniere and DANCING WITH THE STARS’ Elena Grinenko on MOD the same day.
As always, viewers are at the centre of the action at MuchMusic, whether in the live audience or from home by asking questions via text, phone, e-mail, and webcam.
Signed to Island Def Jam Records last fall, Justin Bieber has taken the music business and the Internet by storm. At 12, he began to post performance videos on YouTube to share with his family. After three years, he had received more than 10 million views and caught the attention of Justin Timberlake and Usher. Bieber chose to work with Usher on his debut album My World, scheduled for a fall release. His first single, “One Time” is currently on the Billboard Hot 100 and is constantly topping the MOD Daily 10.
Francis Lafreniere was a Top 20 finalist on the first season of SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE CANADA and is a professional dance teacher, specializing in ballroom. Fellow mover and shaker, Elena Grinenko is best known to viewers from DANCING WITH THE STARS. Grinenko was born in Moscow and also teaches ballroom dancing, ballet, and Russian folk dancing.
