Hotter than a Texas sidewalk in July, ‘09s smokin’ hot comedian Zach Galifianakis brings his particular brand of genius to The Comedy Network this weekend. The puns and pot-stirring madness will be in full effect on Saturday, August 1 at 10 p.m. ET/PT when ZACH GALIFIANAKIS: LIVE hits the small screen. Get more Galifianakis when he joins other alt-comic greats for three hours of comic gold when THE COMEDIANS OF COMEDY: LIVE AT THE TROUBADOUR follows at 11 p.m. ET/PT. Part of The Comedy Network’s SATURDAY NIGHT STAND-UP series, ZACH GALIFIANAKIS: LIVE and THE COMEDIANS OF COMEDY are available uncensored and on demand at thecomedynetwork.ca.
The newest superstar to emerge from the alt comedy circuit, Zach Galifianakis is currently riding the wave from his stand-out performance in this summer’s box office hitThe Hangover. In ZACH GALIFIANAKIS: LIVE, Galifianakis gives a primer to pretenders to the comedy throne. Switching between coddling and chastising his audience at San Francisco’s famed Purple Onion, Galifianakis puts the ‘alt’ in alternative with the introduction of his twin and alter-ego “Seth” Galifianakis.
Zach Galifianakis:Live:
“My name is Zach Galifianakas and um… I hope I’m pronouncing that right. I’m named after my granddad. My middle name is Zach Granddad Galifianakas”
“I went to my stylist before the show tonight and she asked me, “Zach what kind of look are you going for?” And I said, “just give me the amber alert.”
“I think that sign in neighbourhoods that reads “slow children playing” is so mean.”
“I went to my high school reunion a while back and it was so weird because I was home schooled.”
“When you look like I do, it’s hard to get a table for one at Chucky Cheese.”
In THE COMEDIANS OF COMEDY: LIVE AT THE TROUBADOUR, Zach Galifianakis adds his talent to the controlled chaos known collectively as the Comedians of Comedy. Filmed live at Los Angeles’ famed Troubadour, Galifianakis joins 14 other alt comics for an evening of side-splitting humour. With an eclectic line-up including Patton Oswalt, Brian Posehn, Maria Bamford and Sarah Silverman, David Cross and Bob Odenkirk the jokes are sure to hit the fan(s).
Zach Galifianakis in THE COMEDIANS OF COMEDY:
“I’ll tell you something a girl does not like to be whispered in her ear and that is “I’m going to perform Jihad on your *****.”
“I was trying to download something the other day on my computer and it took forever because I was wearing mittens.”
