TVtropolis Unveils its Fall 2009 Programming Highlights

This fall, TVTropiolis will add new series like TV with TV's Jonathan Torrens, Killer Comebacks, Switch, Cleveland, Dawson's Creek (Seasons one through six) as well as Three's company (seasons 1 through 8). Plus, new seasons of returning favorites like Family Guy, King of Queens, That 70's Show, Everybody Loves Raymond, Friends and Frasier. Finally, we'll be able to catch a new season of TVTropolis original series Whatever Happenned to?

Brand New Series

TV with TV’s Jonathan Torrens (13x30min)
(World Premiere)
Saturdays at 11 p.m. ET/PT beginning September 5 (repeats Fridays at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT beginning September 11)
In this multi-channel universe being run by misguided tele-visionaries, only one man has the confidence-instilling inflection to rehash, recap and dissect all the goings-on and goings-wrong of the wide world of television. His name is Stone Phillips, but he’s unavailable. Instead, TV’s Jonathan Torrens stands and delivers the State of the TV Nation, pruning the bushes and pulling the weeds from all over the television landscape.

Killer Comebacks (13x30min)
(World Premiere)
Mondays at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT beginning August 31 (repeats Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/PT beginning September 6)
This series of celebrity “rebounds” chronicles how some of Tinseltown's most famous faces came back “from the dead” to reach superstardom for a second time - by way of commentary and insights from pop-culture experts (journalists, television commentators); juicy tid-bits from industry insiders (publicists, agents, managers) and insightful interviews from “in-the-know” colleagues (actors, producers, directors). All combined with a wide variety of clips, photographs, and animated “collages” each episode of Killer Comebacks celebrates a single stars up, down and back up again ride in all its pop culture glory.

Switch (13x30min)

Tuesdays at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT beginning September 1
Love TV trivia? Can’t get enough of pop culture? Switch is a brand-new series that opens the floor to a team of television aficionados and engages them in a lively discussion about a particular topic of classic television, then narrows down viewer-favourite shows and/or characters within that genre with a unique twist. Topics range from classic television series about cops, spies and P.I.’s, to a dissection of medical, army programs and everything else that’s all in the TV family.
Hosted by Richard Cazeau. Panel includes Eric Estrada, Jimmie Walker, Nicholas Brendon, Michael Fishman, Kathy Garver.

The Cleveland Show(22x30min)

Everyone's favorite soft-spoken neighbor Cleveland Brown moves to his hometown in Virginia with his 14-year old son, Cleveland Jr. Many years ago, Cleveland was a high school student madly in love with a beautiful girl named Donna. Much to his dismay, his love went unrequited, and Donna wound up marrying another man. Cleveland once told Donna he would always love her, and if this man ever did her wrong, he'd be there when she called.

Dawson’s Creek, Seasons One through Six (128x60min)

In the great tradition of farce, Three's Company is the comedy that pushed the envelope by matching two attractive young women and one handsome, but clumsy, willing and able young male chef living under one roof. Jack, Janet, Chrissy, Cindy, and Terri all resided in apartment 201. And their presence made American audiences gladly want to knock on their door each week.

New Seasons of Returning Favourites

Family Guy, Season Seven (16x30min)

Saturdays at 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. ET/PT beginning September 5
Family Guy follows the adventures of lovable oaf Peter Griffin and his hilariously odd family of middle-class New Englanders. During the seventh season, the Griffin family enters the Star Wars universe, Stewie auditions for Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson, who all make guest voice appearances, and Family Guy hits its 100th milestone episode. As Peter would say, “Freakin’ sweet!”.

King of Queens, Season Two (25x30min)

Wednesdays at 4 p.m., 7 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. ET/PT beginning September 2
Blue-collar married couple, Doug, a deliveryman, and Carrie, a secretary at a law firm, have a pretty good life, with a big TV and friends to watch it with. But when Carrie’s goofy and annoying father Arthur moves in, they’re forced to make the best of what they have.
Starring Kevin James, Leah Remini, Jerry Stiller.

That 70’s Show, Season Two (25x30min)

Tuesdays at 4 p.m., 7 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. ET/PT beginning September 1
The hit comedy revolving around a group of teenage friends, their mishaps, and their coming of age, set in 1970s Wisconsin returns to Tvtropolis this fall.

Everybody Loves Raymond, Season Four (24x30min)

Ray Barone seemingly has it all. A wonderful wife, a beautiful family, a great job and a nice house on Long Island. There's only one problem. His obnoxious parents (who live across the street) and his jealous brother are always getting in the way.

Frasier, Seasons Seven (23x30min)

The hit comedy Frasier stars Kelsey Grammer as Dr. Frasier Crane, host of a Seattle radio advice show at KACL. His peaceful home life was shattered when his gruff, ex-cop father, Martin, moves in with him. Martin brought with him a live-in home-care provider, Daphne Moon, his pesky dog, Eddie, and a duct-taped recliner. Their home is frequently visited by Frasier's snobbish brother, Niles and at work, his slightly-jaded producer and man-hungry single parent Roz Doyle supports him.
