Canada’s most-watched summer series* SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE rings in its 100th episode tomorrow night, Thursday, July 23 at 9 p.m. ET on CTV (visit CTV.ca to confirm local broadcast times). Tonight’s performance episode features talk-show host and dance enthusiast Ellen DeGeneres and Emmy® Award-winning choreographer Mia Michaels as guest judges for the Top 8 performances. Tomorrow’s milestone celebration includes performances by Katie Holmes (Batman Begins), Season 2 winner Benji Schwimmer, Season 4 winner Joshua Allen and more special guests. Only ETALK is there to capture the festivities surrounding the 100th episode, including exclusive backstage access and interviews with the cast, guests and the newly minted Top 6.

Once again the #1 program in the country, SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE is enjoying its best season yet on CTV, with an average audience of 1.53 million viewers, up 6% compared to last year. Meanwhile, SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE was recently nominated for five 2009 Emmy Awards, including one for SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE CANADA guest judge and choreographer Mia Michaels. Yesterday, it was announced that the 2009 SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE tour will hit Toronto’s Air Canada Centre on September 29.
Hollywood A-lister Katie Holmes breaks out her highly anticipated singing and dancing talents in tomorrow night’s 100th episode, in homage to Judy Garland. Her performance, which was directed and choreographed by SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE’s own Tyce Diorio in collaboration with Dion Beebe, is to “Get Happy” from the musical Summer Stock. Holmes was most recently seen on stage in the Broadway rendition of Arthur Miller’s All My Sons, from October 2008 to January 2009.
The stage is packed with many familiar faces as SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE alumni guest choreographers and dancers come out to celebrate the milestone. Choreographers making an appearance include Mia Michaels, Wade and Amanda Robson, Tabitha and Napoleon Dumo, Brian Friedman, Nakul Dev Mahajan, Doriana Sanchez, Tony Meredith and Melanie Lapatin. Dancers returning to the stage for this commemorative episode include Season 2’s Benji Schwimmer (winner), Travis Wall (runner-up), Heidi Groskreutz-Burns, Ivan Koumaev and Natalie Foopoulos; Season 3’s Pasha Kovalev, Sara VonGillern, Hokuto (Hok) Konishi, Jaimie Goodwin and Anya Garnis; and Season 4’s Joshua Allen (winner), Katee Shean, Courtney Galiano, Chelsie Hightower, Will Wingfield and Comfort Fedoke.
The 100th episode also features the return of fan-favourite and Emmy Award-winning routines including Wade Robson’s “Ramalama (Bang Bang)” and “The Hummingbird and the Flower,” as well as Mia Michael’s “The Bench” to mark the occasion.

The SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE Tour 2009 kicks off Sunday, September 20 and will visit 40 cities across North America, including Toronto’s Air Canada Centre on September 29. Tickets go on sale Saturday, July 25 for all venues.
