More Movie Classics Premiere This Fall on MPIX and MOREPIX

As the ultimate destination for timeless classics, Mpix – along with its affiliate channel Morepix – offers a collection of movies from thriller, suspense and action-packed entertainment to quality drama and light-hearted favourites. Viewers can tune in to MpixHD, a dedicated high-definition classics movie channel with select HD simulcasts of programming from Mpix and Morepix and access countless movies at their convenience on Mpix OnDemand. Here's MPIX and MOREPIX's fall 2009 programming highlights.

MPIX

AL PACINO SPOTLIGHT ON MPIX
Beginning Thursday, August 27 at 9 p.m.
Four classic films starring big screen icon Al Pacino will air on Mpix beginning with Any Given Sunday on Thursday, August 27 at 9 p.m., followed by the network premiere of Insomnia at 9 p.m. on Friday, August 28, the network premiere of Serpico on Saturday, August 29 at 9 p.m. and Author! Author! on Sunday, August 30 at 9 p.m.

MUMMY MARATHON ON MPIX
Beginning Saturday, August 29 at 3 p.m.
Mpix presents a mummy marathon on Saturday, August 29 beginning with the franchise’s original film The Mummy at 3 p.m., followed by The Mummy Returns at 5:10 p.m. The marathon coincides with the network premiere of The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor on Saturday, August 29 at 7 & 9 p.m. on The Movie Network.

JEFF BRIDGES MARATHON ON MPIX
Beginning Friday, September 4 at 7 p.m.
Mpix kicks off the Labour Day long weekend with a Jeff Bridges marathon that begins with terrorism drama Arlington Road at 7 p.m., followed by the network premiere of The Fisher King co-starring Robin Williams at 9 p.m. and the Coen Brothers comedy The Big Lebowski at 11:30 p.m.

LETHAL SUNDAYS ON MPIX
Beginning Sunday, September 6 at 9 p.m.
It’s the last chance to catch all four Lethal Weapon flicks Sundays in September on Mpix. Lethal Weapon airs September 6 at 9 p.m., followed by Lethal Weapon 2 on September 13 at 9 p.m., Lethal Weapon 3 on September 20 at 9 p.m., and Lethal Weapon 4 on September 27 at 9 p.m.

HOPE THIS DOESN’T BUG YOU MARATHON ON MPIX
Beginning Saturday, September 19 at 7 p.m.
Bring out the bug spray as Mpix presents four critter-themed horror films that will have viewers squirming in their seats. Them! airs at 7 p.m., followed by the network premiere of Eight Legged Freaks at 9 p.m., the network premiere of Bug at 11 p.m., and Mimic at 1 a.m.

MOREPIX

JOHN CLEESE MARATHON ON MOREPIX
Beginning Sunday, August 2 at 6 p.m.
Legendary British funnyman John Cleese takes the stage on Sunday, August 2 beginning with A Fish Called Wanda at 6 p.m., followed by the network premiere of Isn’t She Great at 8 p.m., Fierce Creatures at 9:40 p.m. and Monty Python: The Meaning of Life at 11:15 p.m.

ROBERTS DAY ON MOREPIX
Beginning Saturday, August 22 at 8 p.m.
Hollywood siblings Julia Roberts and Eric Roberts share the spotlight on Saturday, August 22 beginning at 8 p.m. with Notting Hill, and Runaway Train at 10:10 p.m.

TOM HANKS SPOTLIGHT ON MOREPIX
Sunday, September 20 at 8 p.m.
Hollywood heavyweight Tom Hanks takes the stage on Morepix with the network premiere of the father son comedy Nothing in Common co-starring Jackie Gleason at 8 p.m. followed the heart-wrenching drama Philadelphia at 10 p.m.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN ON MOREPIX
Coming in October 2009.
Mpix celebrates Halloween with frightening flicks like Prince of Darkness, Village of the Damned, Jeepers Creepers, Resident Evil: Apocolypse and The Thirteenth Floor.
