This August, W Network heats up as the summer cools down with a holiday movie marathon including the premiere of two hair-raising Canadian films Killer Hair and Hostile Makeover. The paranormal series Medium also returns this month for a fourth bone-chilling season, and The New Adventures of Old Christine joins the schedule with a marathon programming event.
SEASON PREMIERE
MEDIUM – SEASON 4
Medium, the critically acclaimed crime drama starring Emmy® Award winner Patricia Arquette returns to W Network for a fourth season this month. In this series, Allison Dubois (Arquette), a young wife and mother of three girls, is a part-time consultant to the district attorney’s office who uses her psychic abilities, including vivid dreams and communicating with dead people, to help solve criminal cases. Allison struggles to balance her supernatural life and her home life with the help of her supportive husband, Joe (Jake Weber). In the first episode of the season, visions of a kidnapped boy plague Allison, who turns to a private investigator for help. Season 4 of this exciting, hour-long dramatic series premieres Friday, August 28 at 8 p.m.
HOLIDAY MOVIE MARATHON
On Monday, August 3, W celebrates the Civic holiday with a Monday afternoon dedicated to three great movies from noon to 6 p.m. First up at noon is the film For the Love of Grace about a soon-to-be bride who is rescued from a fire by a widowed fireman, whom she feels an instant connection with and finds herself torn between two ‘Mr. Rights’. Then, beginning at 2 p.m., two Canadian murder mysteries based on the Crimes of Fashion book series by Ellen Byerrumn will prove that fashion can be dangerous. Killer Hair follows Lacey Smithsonian, a Washington D.C. fashion reporter who discovers a dead body at her friend’s hair salon. Her uniquely trained fashion eye catches clues that others miss, and with her best friends, she sets out to solve the mystery. In Hostile Makeover at 4 p.m., Lacey Smithsonian finds herself in the middle of crime scene once again when she witnesses the slaying of a reality TV makeover star turned fashion designer. She uses her fashion sense and experience with murder mysteries to crack the case. Viewers can tune in to this special holiday movie marathon on Monday, August 3 from noon to 6 p.m.
THE NEW ADVENTURES OF OLD CHRISTINE MARATHON
On Sunday, August 30, W Network is bringing viewers five full hours of laughs with 10 back-to-back episodes of The New Adventures of Old Christine. Emmy award-winner Julia Louis-Dryfus stars as Christine Campbell, a 35-year-old divorced mother and co-owner of a women’s 30-minute workout gym with her best friend Barb (Wanda Sykes). For Christine, every day is an adventure, especially when she discovers that her ex-husband is marrying a young and beautiful woman, forcing her to venture into the wonderful, hazy and hilarious world of dating. The New Adventures of Old Christine marathon airs on Sunday, August 30 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
