June film premieres include The Dark Knight, featuring the Oscar®-winning performance by Heath Ledger as the manic and disturbed Joker, and an Oscar®-nominated performance by Robert Downey Jr. as a dude playin' the dude disguised as another dude in Tropic Thunder. Other hit films premiering in June include Eagle Eye with Shia LaBeouf, Hellboy II, Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 and two Movie Central- and The Movie Network-supported Canadian films: Real Time, starring Canadian Jay Baruchel (Tropic Thunder, Knocked Up); and Passchendaele, with a special repeat airing on Canada Day (July 1) at 7 p.m. PT on Movie Central.
SHOWTIME ORIGINAL SERIES
NURSE JACKIE
Three-time Emmy® winner Edie Falco returns to television in Showtime’s highly anticipated series Nurse Jackie, a subversive and bitingly funny comedy set against the backdrop of America’s broken health care system. Jackie does her best to survive the chaotic grind of saving lives in a hectic New York City hospital ER, staffed with a young, sexually inappropriate doctor, an overzealous intern and a pharmacist with whom she is having an affair. But this sharp-witted woman of substance knows how to handle it all. With a white lie here, a bent rule there and a steady dose of painkillers to cope with her chronic back pain, Jackie does whatever it takes to get the job done, walking the line between saint and sinner. Nurse Jackie premieres day-and-date with Showtime in the U.S.

From anti-aging to talking to the dead, they take it all on with their trademark wit and humour. New episodes will tackle such subjects as orgasms, astrology, video games, lie detectors, organic food, taxes and The Vatican. The season premiere is day-and-date with Showtime.
