Taste Buds Cooks Up a Scrumptious Second Season
Posted on Saturday, January 24, 2009 - 11:04 PM
General TV News

marblemedia announced earlier this week that a second season of the smash-hit children’s television series Taste Buds has been green-lit by TVO.

Set to begin production this spring with 13 savory episodes, Taste Buds is a hands-on interactive experience created by marblemedia for kids ages 6 to 10 taking place in the kitchen and beyond. Season Two will see the return of those wild and loveable hosts Avery, Lily and Matt. As in season one, they encourage young viewers to be part of the whole process of food preparation – shopping, cooking, eating and cleaning up.

“We have received a great deal of positive response from parents and kids alike with a hunger for more educational adventures in food, as well as new and exciting meal ideas,” said marblemedia Executive Producer and Partner Mark Bishop. “Our outstanding feedback emphasizes the fact that children are eager to try new foods and help out in the kitchen. Taste Buds encourages kids and their parents to explore food in entertaining ways and promote healthy eating together."

The season launch is scheduled for fall 2009 and will return to TVO, Access Alberta, Knowledge Network and the Saskatchewan Communications Network.

E1 Television International (formerly Oasis International) distributes the series and will accompany the hosts of Taste Buds as they kick off NATPE’s first ever Chef Kitchen event with a live cooking demonstration in Las Vegas, Nevada on January 27, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. This will be a mouth-watering mix of food and entertainment that cannot be missed.

Recently nominated for the upcoming CFTPA Indie Awards in Best Convergent New Media, TasteBudsTV.com is a creative and fun website that is stuffed with streamed episodes, delicious recipes and a variety of cookbooks.
