New Year, New Shows on Teletoon and Teletoon Retro

The New Year brings brand new shows and fresh episodes to the TELETOON daytime schedule as Batman: The Brave and the Bold plus Wolverine and the X-Men join Sunday Action Force and Total Drama Action, The second in the popular Total Drama series premieres January 11.

January 2 – January 8

Scooby-Doo and Fred Flintstone star in two family movies airing back-to-back on Friday, January 2 beginning at 9 am ET/PT. In Scooby-Doo and The Legend of the Vampire at 9 am, Scoob and the gang travel to Australia to investigate a spooky music festival. Fred Flintsone is mistaken for a famous international man of mystery in The Man Called Flintstone at 10:30 am ET/PT.

January 9 – January 15

The highly-anticipated Total Drama Action premieres on air on Sunday, January 11 at 6:30 pm ET/PT. In season two of the Total Drama series, the drama has shifted to a Toronto film studio backlot where fourteen of the original contestants will face painful, disgusting and embarrassing new challenges, all inspired by the movies. Brand new episodes air every Sunday night at 6:30 pm ET/PT. Online fans can check out all of the drama first at teletoon.com where, throughout January, new episodes will stream each Thursday, before their network premiere.

Action Force gets an adrenaline injection as three brand new shows premiere on Sunday, January 11.

Batman: The Brave and the Bold at 9 am ET/PT stars Diedrich Bader as the avenging hero in a cartoon that sees Batman team up to fight crime with heroes from across the DC Universe including Blue Beetle, Green Arrow and Aquaman. New episodes air every Sunday at 9 am ET/PT.

Wolverine and the X men come to Action Force each Sunday morning at 10 am ET/PT beginning January 11. Professor Xavier’s students are reunited by Wolverine in order to take on evil and prevent the world from falling into chaos.

Chaotic: M’arrillian Invasion at 8 am ET/PT, is the latest in the Chaotic series that follows Tom and Kaz as they delve deeper into Chaotic to confront freaky new creatures and uncover strange new locations. Their games take a shocking turn when a mysterious new tribe is accidentally unleashed.

January 16 – January 22

As part of Laugh Riot on Saturday mornings, a brand new episode of Chowder airs at 8 am ET/PT on January 17. In order to get a rare fruit from Ms. Endive, Mung and Chowder become her servants for the day. Can they survive the onslaught of humiliation, back-breaking work, and Panini’s kisses?

At 11 am on Saturday, January Scooby and Shaggy travel to New England to unearth the secret of an author’s ghostly ancestor in Scooby-Doo and the Witch’s Ghost.

January 23 – January 31

The past and the future collide in The Jetsons Meet the Flinstones on Saturday, January 24 at 7 pm ET/PT. When George takes his family back to the Stone Age it is up to Fred and Barney to help him out but who will help Fred and Barney when they get zapped into the future?

In a new episode of The Secret Saturdays on Sunday, January 25 at 8:30 am ET/PT, Zak unleashes an evil doppelganger from the mystic Smoke Mirror of Tezcatlipoca.

The Ultimate Avengers is the TELETOON Presents movie on Sunday, January 25 at 11 am ET/PT. Iron Man, The Hulk, Thor, Wasp, Giant Man and Captain America come together to take on the world’s enemies.

Detour on Teletoon:
CHICKEN, DADS AND GRADS THIS JANUARY ON TELETOON DETOUR


This month, TELETOON Detour hatches episodes of Robot Chicken, checks in with the Smith family in American Dad and revisits some classic episodes of UnderGrads. Also in January, TELETOON Detour is heating up winter weekends with action, sci-fi and dark comedy flicks playing every Saturday and Sunday night in the TELETOON Detour Movie.

January 2 – January 8

In two back-to-back episodes of Robot Chicken on Friday, January 2 beginning at 10:30 pm ET/PT, the government does its best to contain an outbreak of cooties while Sir Mix-A-Lot tries to take his place in King Arthur’s Court.

Charlize Theron stars in Aeon Flux, the TELETOON Detour Movie on Saturday, January 3 at 10 pm ET/PT. Set 400 years in the future, a rebel (Theron) sets out to kill a government leader and uncovers the secrets behind her society. On Sunday night it is the bat, the cat and the penguin as Micheal Keaton, Michelle Pfeiffer and Danny DeVito star in Batman Returns on Sunday, January 4 at 10 pm ET/PT.

American Dad on Tuesday, January 6 at 10 pm ET/PT sees Roger become Stan’s new sidekick during a trip to Atlantic City and Hayley and Steve work together to break up a good-looking couple.

January 9 – January 15

Tank Girl is the TELETOON Detour Movie on Saturday, January 10 at 10 pm ET/PT. Starring Ice-T as a genetically mutated kangaroo-like creature as well as Lori Petty and Naomi Watts. The movie is based on the comic strip of the same name by Jamie Hewlitt (co-creator of Gorillaz). On Sunday another comic book creation comes to TELETOON Detour as the animated Hellboy: Sword of Storms airs at 10 pm ET/PT.

In UnderGrads on January 15 at 11 pm ET/PT a safe sex floor meeting at State U puts sex in the minds of the students as they manage with their own libidos and lack of experience.

January 16 – January 22

The Planet Express crew journeys to a parallel universe made accessible by Professor Farnsworth’s latest experiment in Futurama at 9:30 pm ET/PT on Friday, January 16.

Scarlett Johansson stars alongside Thora Birch, Steve Buscemi and Illeana Douglas in Ghost World, the TELETOON Detour Movie on Saturday, January 17 at 10 pm ET/PT.

On Sunday night at 10 pm ET/PT ghosts, witches, vampires, harpies and a phantom wolf pack are unleashed in New York in Hellboy: Blood & Iron.

January 23 – January 31

Star Wars inspired comedy takes to television screens on Saturday, January 24 as Spaceballs airs as the TELETOON Detour Movie at 10 pm ET/PT.

From January 26, Robot Chicken embarks on space flight as TELETOON Detour airs the most spaced-based episodes of the stop motion comedy Monday to Wednesday, plus Friday at 10:30 pm ET/PT. In select episodes, the crew of Battlestar Galactica take on the FCC, icons from Star Trek and Tiger Beat alike unite for canned sitcom laughs in “Two Kirks, a Khan and a Pizza Place” and America sends Harrison Ford into space to take out a killer asteroid.

On Thursday, January 29 Robot Chicken and sci-fi fans alike can tune in for a whole hour of lightsaber lampoons as the half hour specials, Robot Chicken: Star Wars and Robot Chicken: Star Wars Episode II back-to-back starting at 10pm ET/PT.

Still looking at life forms from other worlds the TELETOON Detour Movie on Saturday, January 31 at 10 pm ET/PT is Mars Attacks directed by Tim Burton.

WELCOME THE NEW YEAR WITH OLD FAVOURITES ON TELELTOON RETRO

This month TELETOON Retro rings-in the New Year with new episodes of old favourites, as the classic cartoon channel adds even more episodes of Wait Till Your Father Gets Home, Alvin & The Chipmunks, ReBoot and Fraggle Rock to the schedule beginning January 5.

January 2 – January 8

On Saturday, January 3 at 9:30 am and 1:30 pm ET, the peace and quiet of the Evergreen Forest is suddenly shattered by the clang of armour and the shouts of medieval knights as fact becomes mixed with fiction in a vintage episode of The Raccoons.

January 9 – January 15

In a new classic episode of Fraggle Rock on Friday, January 9 at 9 am 7:30 pm ET Gobo welcomes his uncle, Travelling Matt, who has returned from a voyage to Outer Space.

Porky is almost convinced that he wants a dog while a bus-driving mouse and his sewer-worker pal are caught between irate wives and a hungry cat in The Porky Pig Show on Sunday, January 11 at 2:30 pm ET.

On Monday, January 12 at 8:30 am and 8:30 pm ET, The Chipettes are reunited with an old friend and reminisce about their younger days before they were famous in an episode of Alvin & The Chipmunks never seen before on TELETOON Retro.

January 16 – January 22

In Wait Till Your Father Gets Home on Friday, January 16 at 9 pm ET Irma fills in for Harry's honeymooning secretary and manages to alienate her husband's star client by mistaking him for a deadbeat.

At 2 pm ET on Sunday, January 18, The Banana Splits Adventure Show sees Tooly learn the value of old friends when his neglected horse rescues him from a bull and Dr. Haydn lead Mu-tan to the treasure, and also the Skeleton Men.

January 23 – January 31

There’s an interesting take on the Little Red Riding Hood story on Woody Woodpecker on Monday, January 26 at 11 am and 9:30 pm ET. While on Tuesday, January 27, at the same times, Woody has a run-in with Tom Cat.

In a TELETOON Retro premiere of a new classic Alvin & The Chipmunks episode, The Chipettes and Miss Miller and her band both audition for a spot on a Hollywood TV show on Friday, January 30 at 8:30 am and 8:30 pm ET.
